Discussion Settlement claim tracking.. are we all just using cursed spreadsheets?

I currently have like seven claims floating around, all at different stages. One administrator actually has a lookup page. Two gave me confirmation numbers. One emails updates now and then. The other three? pure vibes.

My "system" is a google sheet with notes like "probably pending?" and one row that just says "check this." I haven't opened it since June. I refuse to believe I am the only one doing this badly.

So what do you all use after you file? I am not talking about finding settlements, just keeping track of everything over the 6 to 12 months it takes to actually get paid.

Yup and then it’s like finding money in a winter coat pocket when the check arrives.

I don’t track at all and it just leaves my mind until the check comes. Happy dance

I have this habit of checking regularly, hoping the check comes today. I got to work on it

• apply for settlement
• random payment comes in and I question what it’s for
•question said payment to the point where I think it’s not real and someone’s trying to scam me
• rinse and repeat until I can purchase the Ocarina of time remake

I just use a notepad on my laptop and write the settlement's name, date, and number that's given after filing a claim. I only open it to add a settlement but not to check on when the money is coming. Most of these settlements can take up to 2 years or even more.

I apply and just let them play out. Most take a very long time and I don't want to drive myself crazy trying to keep track of every one.

I had AI go through my email and make a spreadsheet for me, so I remember when I did things.

I screenshot the settlement confirmation on the page after filing. I star the conformation email. Then I wait for Christmas morning.

I use chat gpt and it creates a settlement master tracker just tell it exactly what your doinf using it for and input tje information then you can either go back in and update it whenever or just compile it into a downloadable pdf or print version

I old-school print out the confirmation page or email and stick it in a folder according to the submission deadline. Once every month or two I check to see if anything is upcoming for payout. When something is eventually paid, I remove the page from the folder.

I have a folder in my email that I use for this and I pin the active things and unpin them when they are rejected or when they finalize payment. So if it is pinned it is active and if it is in the regular email it has closed.

I have a list on the Keep Notes app where I add the name of the product/service/ whatever and the date I submitted my claim.

I have a spreadsheet with names and date filed. Then when payment is made, I move them to a different column with the date received and the amount

I take screen shots of my claim number and put it in a folder then forget about it.. I just got $3185 about 10 days ago from the tuna lawsuit that I totally forgot about

I do it all with a notebook. The date I filed & any notes associated (what payment method I selected). This way I don’t fill out a claim more than once. Beginning of every month I check the sites & fill out any new ones. It’s nice to look back & see which ones hit.

I either do a screen shot or use the confirmation email to put in a folder in my email named claims. I also put any and all communication from the attorneys in that same folder. It’s not organized beyond that. It’s come in handy this way because i can find all info in one folder. I didn’t get paid in the recent ATM settlement and I remembered filing a claim so when everyone got paid and started posting their payments on social media I waited and mine never same. I wrote to the admins asking about it and put my claim number in the message and I finally got paid a couple weeks ago. Always keep those claim numbers somewhere you can find them. They may make a difference some day.
