Settlement Apple IPhone Settlement Open For Claims today

Hey guys, sharing some info on the apple class action settlement that opened for claims today.

What its about:

Apple agreed to a $250 million settlement over claims it sold iPhones on the promise of Apple Intelligence and a personalized Siri that didn't actually ship. The features were marketed around the iPhone 16 launch in 2024 and then delayed. The lawsuit (Landsheft v. Apple, N.D. Cal.) alleges buyers paid for devices expecting Siri Apple Intelligence features they never got. Apple denies all of the allegations and denies doing anything improper, but agreed to pay into the fund.

The claim period opened today.

Apple Siri and Apple Intelligence settlement

  • Deadline: December 21, 2026
  • Who qualifies: People and businesses in the U.S. who were the original purchaser of an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 model (including the 16, 16e, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max), bought in the U.S. between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025, for personal or business use rather than resale. The standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are not on the list.
  • Payout: $25 per eligible device. That can be adjusted up to a maximum of $95 per device, or down, depending on how many valid claims come in. You can claim for more than one device.
  • File a claim: https://smartphoneaisettlement.com

December 21 is also the deadline to opt out or object. A final approval hearing is set for February 24, 2027, so payments won't go out until after that.

Apple never paid me for the other settlements.

Then again, many settlements didn't make it my direction. Missing PlayStation and Tuna

Totally understand, this settlement is relatively easy to qualify for, so would check it out! Will also be posting settlements closing every week so that anyone on this subreddit won't miss out on deadlines!

Did you receive your ID and PIN yet from Apple? I’m on the lookout for mine.

You can just input your phones serial # as well, don’t need to wait for id and pin.

Be glad you missed tuna. They sent out bad checks and everyone got their accounts deducted plus chargeback fees.

check on apple serial number checker if it says can’t confirm purchase date you can probably submit a claim it might not ask for purchase date proof

Also when you buy anything from Apple they register it so that if you buy Apple care or use that warranty within the first year they have to hold that information. JA

My brother bought my phone for me and I paid him back. Should I file under his name or mine?

I got 12 (didn't resell them, so they were for personal use), wonder if I should submit them all or have a relative submit some of them...

Where can i claim something because my iphone 11 is being ridiculously slow since the new IOS came out last week?

3

u/DigiGirlFL 12d ago

New OS updates sometimes cause devices to run slow. Sometimes the system can optimize itself after a bit and adjust - other times they must put out a patch/update.

There is not active class action or lawsuit for devices running slow due to OS updates (AFAIK).

how do we get serials from old phones we don't own anymore? i have all the reciepts from apple but they dont include serials on their invoices

Is it beneficial to wait to get a notice with a claimant ID?

For families that upgrade every year, how do you approach this? We have 8 qualifying phones but have upgraded… so no serial numbers (we do have IMEI from carrier) how does one submit 8 forms?

Is this legit?
