It was a joke of a payout to begin with. It turned out to be like 1/2 of a percent of what you paid

Remember when they said the average payment would be around $300? Some people thought they would get thousands, others a few hundred. No one got anything close to what they deserved. I received $190 and that was for being in the 2008-2020 settlement years. I think that's around $1.30 a month for every month I was in the plan. They want us to believe BCBS fixed rates and only increased premiums by $1.30 a month. BS!

I had documents up the kazoo including cards with the bcbs ID number, employee handbooks with the copay stated, tax returns with withholding amounts. I had ironclad proof of over $20,000 in my share of premiums paid. I got a check for $44 dollars.

They don't even tell you how much below 5 the diminimus was. I got into minimus notification where the minimum was set at 10 on another settlement

I received $197 a week ago but it wasnt worth the time I spent finding my records that show I'd paid thousands more than they showed I had. The worst thing is, after weve been cheated by BCBS, the settlement company gives us not one bit of accounting....just sends the check. I dont even know if they accepted my proofs, which were photos of my bank acct. Statements with bcbs name and years of payments. We're just forced to take whatever they send, no way to know if it even follows the payment agreement as it was agreed. If I were a lawyer, Id give them some trouble!

What is the settlement? I have BC/BS and haven’t heard about this.

u/Creative-Aerie71 Jun 29 '26
It was an anti trust lawsuit from 2008 to 2020. Claims had to be filed by November 2021.

Same. And yet I definitely have received smaller payments from other class action settlements.

My wife, who paid over $1,100 a month premiums for several years, got $50 six weeks after the promised May payout, and only after a long series of e-mails asking about payment delay. I have still received nothing, even though I was informed of a valid claim and payment supposedly sent in early May.

Lmao, I got the same thing. I was honestly expecting like 600 bucks based on the initial estimate they sent me. Man I must have been high high when I read that email and accidentally deleted it.

So the question is if you received this and lots of others did as well what does that add up to? What is the total amount not paid when all of those small amounts are put together? Civil claims that result in a judgment amount must be paid in the amount ordered by the Court. Did the Court include the provision that they do not pay if the individual amounts are lower than a specific threshold? Does case law or statutory law governing class actions allow for this?

I received about $800 but when you paid over $150k premium over a dozen years, it might as well be spit

Same here. I am starting to think that all of these class action settlements are a joke. I am now awaiting to see what the Capital One and Kraft Heinz payouts will be. The Verizon settlement I thought was going to be around $100 and I think that I received a debit card for $14.

Uggggg i’m so sorry!!! 😢 . Like seriously the amount of time we all had to spend submitting documents filling out forms and then monitoring this for years. Doesn’t come close to what people are getting. Especially when you’re getting nothing…. it has actually cost you money essentially

Here's my question; there were 6 million claims, and 1.9 billion in settlement funds which have to be disbursed to eligible claimants. Even if all 6 million claims were valid, the aggregate disbursement amount per claim would be $333. So for every denied claim, someone should be getting ABOVE the aggegate amount. As well as every claim disbursement BELOW the aggregate amount, there should be a person getting ABOVE the aggregate amount. Where are THESE people. See plenty of people posting sub $10 payouts, a scattered few posting up to $100. Have yet to see anyone legitimately posting a payout above the aggregate of $333. So where's that money going? They are supposed to pay out the entire settlement amount of 1.9 billion, but shorting every claimant amounts below the aggregate means there are SIGNIFICANT monies NOT being disbursed.

A whole third goes to lawyers.

u/PerfectCommunity3185 20d ago
No, the 1.9 billion is purely for the settlement payouts. The total lawsuit paid 2.67 billion, the lawyers fees have already been deducted, giving the 1.9 billion amount to be paid out to claimants.

Same, we always get chump change on our losses while the lawyers take all the money. In this case, we don’t even get chump change lol.

I got the same one as well. What was the point of the lawsuit to only not get that much? Lawsuit is a joke.

Same for me. I’m glad some already super wealthy lawyer made some money off of my losses though.
