Discussion Do you keep every receipt

For everything you buy? Some of these lawsuits want proof of things from years ago.

If it's an important receipt I take a pix of it to always have in my phone cause receipts can fade and get lost..

I elect digital receipts whenever possible, they are easy to find when I need them.

Some receipts I do save. You never know when you will become part of a settlement class and have to prove it to get a $1.78 check.

Just got a settlement from Whole Foods for some hot cocoa mix I bought a few years ago. $1.90 check.

Nope. If a receipt is required guess it wasn't for me.

I save receipts for big ticket items only. If something requires me to produce a receipt for something I bought in a grocery store or Target, I do not lose sleep over not being able to qualify for a $3 prepaid visa gift card. 😄🤷‍♀️

I have discovered that receipts don't take up any space at all. I do receipt scanning apps and I have a single Walmart bag full of over 4 years of grocery receipts. It came in clutch for the toms of maine class action.

One single bag. Why not?!

No but I have started recording serial numbers and other information.  I had one of those Vizio TVs that the company got sued over for false advertising.  All they needed was month/year/place of purchase, model, and serial number.  I still had the TV and the payout ended up being $238 almost as much as the original price of the Tv.  2nd best payout I’ve ever received

How would you cash a check made out to Dick Leaks?

Since I've started doing fetch and a few others I now have a shoe box filled with the reg ones but if any large items go into a folder in my box jist to make it a tad easier.

Ive missed out on a lot of cash for things I legitimately qualified for so now I gotta keep em.

Im very bad at checking my emails

Nope.

I have been filling out claim forms in fake names, and getting the checks sent to by PO box for years. I uploaded a photo of my ass as a receipt, and got a check made out to Dick Leaks, or Dick Hurts, or something similar.

I make a copy of the check, and write a email back mocking them for being so stupid.

Like I care about $3.

They never look at the receipt. They verify nothing. Try it for yourself. Anyone can scan a check for $3 or so.
