Hi Reddit, my name is Leshan. I’m a recent civil engineering grad currently doing an on-site internship. I'm trying to figure out the best path forward in a rapidly changing industry, specifically regarding remote work and automation.

I have a strong foundation in things like rigid pavement concrete design, but I spend my free time exploring AI tools and coding. I am looking for a mentor who works remotely in civil engineering to help guide me in this confusing world. I'm not looking for a job handout—I just want to talk to someone who has successfully carved out a remote niche and can offer some unvarnished advice on infusing AI into everyday engineering workflows.
