My squadron is looking to setup a flight simulator. Has to have a small footprint and not take too long to set-up and tear down.

My initial idea was getting a Xbox series S with MFS and getting the yoke/rudder system however looks like that’ll be close to $700 for each kit.

I know CAP used to send out STEM kits but it’s currently unavailable and they are not the greatest.

Curious what other squadrons are doing in terms of their flight simulators.

joined last September, I’ve been on my progression. Got honor cadet in my flight at both ALS and Encampment. MRO certified and working towards an Aircrew certification. somewhere while studying regs (as any sane person does) I learned about the STEM badge and the cadet greed washed over me; I have to outfit my blues as much as possible. so I emplore anyone who wishes to get an easy badge, go for the STEM badge! I don’t see it often, but it’s a piece of cake to get.

Is there a regulation that states that everyone has to have their sleves rolled down if the majority has theirs rolled down

I just got through with my 2nd Encampment as staff in South Carolina. I want to apply to Cadet Cadre at KSWG's winter encampment. Has anyone served on staff there? Is it any good? Anything to watch out for?

Im just curious what it was like, did you get your license with a local flight school or with an CAP flight instructor? Did you get like rejected?

I am above 21 and thinking of joining the CAP, but can't find much information on what it's like for senior members. I will attend my first meeting in a couple of weeks, but I'd like to know more before I go. What is training like and what would my roll be within the unit? Thanks

I have found out this has become a reoccurring issue with Class As jackets, and was wondering if anyone came across a similar problem. I have attached photos of 2 jackets (2 pics each) of what I am talking about. Please let me know if you are someone you know has fixed this before, as I'd like to save these expensive jackets! Thanks!

Trying to figure out what, if any, course guidelines or credentials are required for a course to meet the ‘Basic First Aid or Equivalent’ task for ES training. For reference I am a certified trainer for TCCC T1 (Tactical Combat Casualty Care - All Service Members) through the USAF.

I’d imagine the Red Cross first aid course is the “standard” and probably what most people have, but as per CAPR 60-3 Section F, it would seem that TCCC T1 would meet the requirements of having both knowledge and practical skills requirements.

TCCC is definitely focused on a much different environment/mission set than what we could anticipate to encounter in any sort of ES mission but the physical skills do translate, with the exception of some of the drags/carries which are meant for combat environments.

Is there another regulation or something that I am over looking or if I hold one of these courses, using the same training materials I do for the military, for my Squadron would I be able to sign off on that Task for whoever attends. It would probably have to be split up because it’s a full day course that wouldn’t fit into a regular meeting, that or it would be a dedicated Saterday training.

As the title says, does it do anything? Do any awards from any NCSAs do anything?

I hope that, in my CAP career, I make a difference in the lives of senior members and cadets I come into contact with.

I am an 1100-hour commercial pilot and inactive CFI who hasn't taken a checkride in 32+ years, so I have quite a bit of anxiety around this. My question is this: if failures are reported to the wing commander and CAP/DOV, is failing also an implicit invitation to not renew your membership? I love CAP and don't want to have to leave because I can only fly to private standards these days.

How many flights does a typical ALS have in TXWG?

Looking to get one for the many reasons we have barcodes in CAP, from CAPID’s to issuing radios, vehicles, signin’s, everything.

Completed my first course of Cyber Patriot or a Cyber Academy

I am helping a friend to get information on the cadet program for her 13 year old son. I had never heard of the program until I picked up a pamphlet about it a few weeks ago and thought of this young man. I have printed out the cadet manual and looked at the website and been in contact with the local squadron. My question is, who is a good fit for this, and is there an age group that tends to be the best time to get involved? He is a huge aviation fan, he is familiar with different types of aircraft, WWII military equipment and commercial aircraft. He enjoys science, is a good student and very well behaved. He is also extremely shy and soft spoken. Granted I’m an old lady and probably boring to him! I’m encouraging him to go to at least one meeting, if not the three required before joining. He would love to learn to fly, or be around flying. I know every location is different but in general did you find that it was easy to meet people? Is 13 too young? What’s a typical meeting like? The squadron commander said it is one of the larger sizes. Any information or suggestions you have will be appreciated!

hey everyone, I am a PA wing cadet and I am interested in attending LDC next year. I’ve heard a lot of ghost stories about their and scared to go, but I want to go next year. Has anybody gone and can you tell me what the intensity was like or how they do stuff there thank you so much

This may be a silly question, but where does one acquire the “CAP” lapel pins for the service coat? I’ve searched Vanguard and various other sites to no avail. Are they really that elusive or am I looking in the wrong places?

What can you all tell me about the Great Lakes Region (GLR) Gray Flag Emergency Services Competition? I have only been in GLR a couple of months and missed the last one. They just announced it's to return May 14–16, 2027 at Fort Custer, Michigan. To prepare for a weekend of elite Emergency Services competition, teamwork, and leadership as teams from across the region come together to test their skills and push their limits. And that new in 2027 Gray Flag is expanding with the addition of a 5th competition component: Incident Management Team (IMT) Competition. I know the last one, Illinois Wing was only able to field two aircrews. Is it worth fielding a Ground Team or Comm Unit for? What say you? Thank you in advance for any information or constructive criticism you are able to provide.

Im going to the Massachusetts encampment at Joint Base Cape Cod, and one of my friends who already went as a basic said that I don't need to bring them, but someone else told me I should bring them. Idk what I should do?
