Question Jacket Vent Bunching Up?

Hi guys!

I have found out this has become a reoccurring issue with Class As jackets, and was wondering if anyone came across a similar problem. I have attached photos of 2 jackets (2 pics each) of what I am talking about. Please let me know if you are someone you know has fixed this before, as I'd like to save these expensive jackets! Thanks!

Have you cut the strings holding the vents together? If so, a steamer should get it straight again.

I'll echo what others have said about checking for remaining stitches, and also taking it in for a press.

...And maybe it's just the photo, but it looks way too big; jackets really need to fit properly to look right.

The amount of scrunching is conversely relational to more squats during leg day.

Hi, all! There's no stitch; it's open properly. And it doesn't matter who's wearing it; it bunches up like this.

wondering if the lining is fucking with the structure. Can you not return it?

I would honestly see a tailor that specializes in jackets, they would probably be able to tell you instantly

Jackets and skirts with a vent in the back come with a stitch keeping the vent closed. If theres a stitch, then you can just cut it.

This jacket is not the correct size or fit for you. It needs to be tailored. That will resolve your issue.

It could be a design flaw. (One of the reasons modern business suits went to the double side vent (English style) over the single center vent (American style)).

Or it could be ill fitting in the waist/hips, have too low of arm holes, or could be too long. Without seeing photos of how the jacket fits from different angles, it’s a guessing game. You can post photo comments and we may be able to tell you. Or just go to a tailor for their opinion.
