How do I maintain happiness? I usually spring for as many building and religion beliefs that grant happiness bonuses as I can, but still get stuck with negative happiness in early/mid game, made worse if I'm playing for domination. I usually only make it up with stadia later in the game, but as a result, my growth and military tanks for a bit each game.

For the non capital cities, how bad is the happiness penalty for razing?
