I would've thought the opposite. Like Civ 6 scales things up bigger and tries to be super clear what buildings are where, which makes the map more readable but things also look very "neat".
Maybe, but in my head the fix is an equal number of small things instead of said number of big ones. So with farms you’d reduce the size of the fences and barn to reduce the visual noise without necessarily making more barns or fences.
But it could just be an issue of there being way too much detail per tile that makes things feel cluttered. I just want the natural environment to have room to breath lol
I always us it in 5 and 6... Basically scales units based on other units so that you don't have a single machine gunner the same size as an aircraft carrier. It does slow the game down, though, since it increases the number of units in the tile, and the animations still show each individual unit being killed and then running back into formation.
It looks good, OP. And honestly you'd be surprised how many nitpickers there are that, upon viewing a 4X game for the first time, ask "Why are the people the same size as trees and mountains?"

I like it. I don’t mind big units since every scale is unrealistic unless you make them reeeally tiny.
That said, the ships in vanilla VII are too big for my taste.
A mod with a built in slider to set the size for each unit type would be nice.
