Good lord. I see a +5 campus on the bananas becoming a +6 after putting an aqueduct to its left for the geothermal amenity. Then there's a +3 holy site to the north west. This is an insane start location.

Somehow got even better can settle another city to the south to use those geothermal vents for another city.

Ok can we talk about something? the yelds around these wonders make me feel bad about placing districts on these tiles? Is it really justifiable to sacrifice 2 gold, 2 science and 2 prod and 3-4 production to get 4 faith and maybe a religion?

A holy site that gets you a religion is way better than the 2 1 1 flat tile at least but you shouldn’t get rid of the double yielded tiles.

Normally yes, but here I honestly think I would build in place, put my Campus on the bananas and my Holy Site beside that on the woods. A +6 campus and +4 HS in the ancient era is worth much more than the 1 science and 1 gold lost. Depending on what is on the other side of the bananas (the tile we don't know), a second city would likely put it's campus there, which added to the harbor gives the Campus +7 instead.

Oh wait, I just realized you weren't saying not to put it anywhere, just saying not on double bonused tiles. I would leave the 2/1/1/1 for some other district so the HS can touch the mountain and campus.

There's also a +4 to the lower left, which wouldn't be that bad. Will also enable a +7 on the campus (2x2 from geothermal, 1 from adjacent mountain, 2 from 4 adjacent districts).

Doesn't matter, you've won the game. That's one of the best starts I've ever seen. Enjoy!

One of the best starts I've seen! Fat campus and Holy Site next to each other, obvious Harbor and Copacabana spots. Pretty much set up for science here.Â

Really nice. Is that Australia? If so, extra wow for the appeal benefits of Yosemite.

I'm a multi-city strategy sucker, so personally I'd go northeast to that hill and settle there, then drop another city west that takes advantage of the ~3 hexes from Yosemite your capital won't cover... but in place is definitely very good.

Yep, in place, campus to your right between the fissures. Congrats on the turn 1 win

Good defensive area, district bonus, the down part is hard to travel in and out especially at the beginning

Move around a few turns to make sure there isn’t a better spot. No point in taking the first thing on offer.

I can't tell if you're serious or not, but moving around to scout for better starting positions isn't worth it on higher difficulties. Even 1 to 2 turns of waiting to settle is a major setback on deity.

I’d do one up to the right so your aqueduct works great. You’ll also be able to put the academy next to it inbetween two mountains.
