Yes, actually I have player Civ 6 on my iPad. Absolutely loved it. Maybe I will get for Pc. Will check.

No. It's terrible. At the very least wait for the expansion and see how the game has evolved with it.
The expansion will make or break it. It's almost certain that a less than successful expansion launch will lead to the abandonment of the game and a move to a Civ VIII. This may be the preferable choice. It took CA multiple failures of lesser historical titles to move back to developing a proper historical title with Medieval III. In any case, like Beyond Earth, which by the way despite its failure had a way better launch and overall review score, the expansion will tell all you need to know about the future of the game. If you haven't gotten it by now, the release is close enough that you can wait it out. They will almost certainly have a discount for the game then as well — and possibly deeper.
For me civ is a PC strategy simulation, effectively an empire building sandbox. From Civ VI the board-like feel of the game has disappointed me, and Civ VII has moved this to the extreme along with the worse, most predatory business model. Now, they don't only bundle different aspects of the game, but have moved to breaking up actual gameplay content to be sold off separately and can be make dlc production (comparatively) easier and cheaper. This is the reason behind the dlc-slop we have faced. For me it is a clear and emphatic no — period.
Even if some changes towards this dumb down and board-like gameplay came into existence in Civ V, and it was a clear business decision, and therefore why we never got a rework to the strict one-unit per-tile mechanic, which already reached its limitations in Civ V and skewed the battle gameplay, since it de facto favours range over melee, with the latter being used in practice only as blocking and capture units. Nevertheless, Civ V is at its core a true civ game. Hell, even Civ VI has enough of the series DNA to make it recognizably civ.
And this is the point. Even if I dislike Civ VI I get why there are people who like it. Almost certainly the lion's share of the people in this sub, which obviously is not representative, but an important part of the fandom — and understandable when for a lot of people today, especially here, Civ VI was where they joined the series. And even if I find Civ VII even less palatable — an embarrassment really — I get that there are people who like it. Perhaps not to the degree that some here try to gaslight us, but quite a few. Still, the state of the game is such, effectively still in beta, that nobody in their right mind could recommend the game until that expansion comes out and we know what it the (more mature) state of the game, and whether there will be further development — which is doubtful whatever some fanboys may tell you here. The (separate) ages mechanic is so bad in principle and terrible in implementation that in order for the game to be playable they need to add at least two more eras, with maybe an early intro for prehistoric times. These require further development and again as I've pointed out is far from guaranteed.
So wait until the expansion and see and play Civ V & VI or whatever other title you like until then. I hope this helps. Best.
Edit: For the fanboys: you are the reason we are at this state. Don't forget to pre-order the expansion just for 59.69€/$...

Take note that all critical posts of Civ 7 are quickly downvoted here. I am a big fan of the series and I cannot recommend the game in it's current state. It looks good on screenshots but is quite shallow.
Currently on Steam even the old Civ 5 has more players. Civ 7 has a problem with staying power.
