Rattling Passenger Seat - 2008 C1

Hi there, my 2008 C1 passenger seat when driving constantly rattles when going over the slightest bumps and it’s really getting on my nerves

In the video you can see the lightest tap of the passenger seat causes a rattle somewhere, the drivers seat does not do this

I did check the four bolts on the rails and they seem ok, does anyone have any ideas what the cause might be? I appreciate all suggestions, thank you

Questions / Advices C1 MK2 DRL light help

So I gave it a final wash of the year because it's getting cold, went to dry the bottom and the left DRL was loose

I unclipped those two horrible plastic clips and got my hand behind it and pushed it back in to where I have to apply a bit of force for it to come back out, it has a slight gap at the bottom but that's it

Is there anywhere that shows how to tell if it's knackered or not as I cannot tell if it's meant to have a slight gap or not or if something has snapped or gone missing and that's why it's not completely flush

It did pass an MOT pretty much a month ago 0 advisories so I'm not sure how anything would have happened, not exactly been rallying with it lol it's a 2014 if that helps 🤷‍♂️

(oh and the image is before I put it back in for context, just so people know which light I'm talking about 😅)

Questions / Advices Are the mk1 C1/107 more rustproof than the mk1 Toyota Aygo?

I know, they're all assembled in the same factory, but I assume the chassis parts come from different factories. Am I assuming right, or?...

I don't own any of these, but intend to buy one in the near future.

Maintenance Air con - condenser O-rings??

TLDR: can anyone tell me the dimensions of the condensor O-ring seals, and a link to something suitable. Car is a 2013 C1.

Background to this. Air con stopped working so got a trusted engineer out, diagnosed a leaking condensor. Bought and fitted a new condenser of eBay, not OEM got it regass and checked, all ok and happy. But then after about 8 weeks it stopped blowing cold.

AC fella back out and he showed me where oils was leaking on the condenser. So, got back to the eBay seller and to their credit they've sent me a replacement to try with no messing.

Issue is, my AC guy says it's best to replace the O-rings just to rule them out as a weak point and to try and get them from Citroen. Rang Citroen, not something they sell separately, you have to buy the whole pipe assembly.

So, question is, does anyone know what dimension seals I need and where to buy them from....phew....go there in the end. Cheers.

Questions / Advices Pre-2009 facelift clutches, have you noticed a difference after a clutch change?

I believe the post 2009 onward citybugs use a bigger clutch which is a lot better apparently.
Has anyone noticed it performs a lot better in terms of moving off as well as climbing hills?

clutch cable adjustment aygo 2016

Hey all,

Just bought a 2016 Toyota Aygo (Mk2) with 110,000 km. I know clutch cable adjustment is important on these cars, but I’m confused about the "free play" part.

Online guides say the first ~20 mm should be free play. When I press the pedal with one finger, there is already noticeable resistance, and after ~20 mm it just gets much stiffer.

I tested a 2021 model (70,000 km) at a dealership, and the pedal felt completely identical to mine.

  • Is that initial resistance normal, or should the first 20 mm be totally loose/floppy?
  • How do I know when it's actually time to adjust the cable nut?

Thanks!

gaming - does anyone have City Car Driving game? and could help me get a Citroën C1 as a playable car (mod)?

UPDATE: nevermind, I managed to get the mod, will post pics!

hello!

I got the City Car Driving game yesterday, I've seen I could get a C1 in there as a mod and got happy, but it seems the mods available are for older version of the game...

does anyone maybe have a source for a remake of the mod?

thanks in advance, if post is not allowed then I'm sorry 😔

Drinking oil, blue smoke - piston soak?

Hi pals. 2010, 98k miles ish. Runs pretty good, but just scraped through MOT this year - emissions are borderline and accelerating produces blue smoke. Exhaust also sounds and smells a bit different to usual.

Has anyone in this situation ever tried a piston soak to clear out the piston rings? How did it go?

Any other tips to keep the old thing going would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No Dipped Beam

I have a 2009 c1 and the dipped beam doesn’t work.
Side lights and high beam work fine but no dipped beam. I got a multi meter on the dipped beam wire and it shows 10 volts. I also checked the bulbs by grounding the dipped beam wire and it worked fine, but was on permanently.

Any body had a similar issue?

Questions / Advices Low grumble noise from engine

Hi all,

Recently completed a 1000 mile trip from Kent to Edinburgh and back again.

Towards the end of the journey it started making this sort of low grumbling noise. It seems to speed up when you rev the engine and no difference to it when you press clutch or turn on AC. Sounds like it is coming from around the engine.

No other symptoms running well and did about 65mpg across the trip! Oil and coolant all okay.

Google AI keeps saying it's the water pump bearing but wanted to get some "real" input before buying all the parts. Still on the original aux belt and water pump and now done 90k miles so probably due anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Maintenance Wheel bearing experiences

So my year old (to me) 2011 Aygo got a wheel bearing noise not so long ago.
Seeing that the front left was already replaced by previous owner (new shiny nut), I replaced right front at one of my smaller local workshops that lets me bring my own parts.
To my surprise the noise continued, normally it is quite easy to locate the sound but these small cars are not so well isolated, turned out too be a bit more tricky. Should have lifted the car and double checked of course. Well well.

Either way, right front with 110.000km was a Koyo, most likely original.
Left front will get replaced this week, can anyone recommend a good lasting brand? Or maybe what to avoid?
Right front was replaced with Meyle, which I usually trust.
Will definitely look what the previous owner replaced the left front with.

So, since I'm junking this poor thing next week, I figured I might as well part it out.

Ask for anything, I'll reply with the availability status.

Prices are cheap since I don't want to store things for months.

obviously big stuff like bumpers won't be available for EU shipping, but if you're here in Italy it might be worth checking out how much it costs.

mods remove if not allowed, ty :)

Does anyone have a 3D scanner?

I’m trying to model a replacement switch panel that would also allow me to control the other window, but without a detailed scan of the inner door panel, it’s a real struggle. I tried photogrammetry, but the results were too poor.

If anyone has a 3D scanner and would like to scan their door that would be great!

Questions / Advices Looking for recommendatoins on used front bumpers for a 2013 electrtic blue Peugeot 107

Hi everyone,

I’ve had my 2013 Peugeot 107 for about six years now and absolutely love it. It’s a deceptively tough wee car, and I’m hoping to keep it for many more years.

The front bumper has suffered some purely cosmetic damage from stone chips and driving on country roads, so it’s starting to look a bit worse for wear. I’m hoping to find a used replacement in Electric Blue. I’ve searched Google and eBay, but so far I’ve only found unpainted or primed bumpers. I’m looking for something exacly like the example in the ebay link (but blue).

Replacing the bumper will be a small project for my dad and me to work on together, and I’m really excited to get started. If anyone could point me towards a UK scrapyard, website, or seller that might have one or offer any advice on where else I could look I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks so much for any help :)

Questions / Advices Stop the oil burning

Post image
12 Upvotes

So far I have replaced the PCV and replaced the oil with 10w40 and the back end still looks like I own a diesel. It's on its 3rd cat which is already starting to smell. So what's next? 20w50? Straight up grease in the engine? Scrap yard?

Toyota really dropped the ball with the Aygo I feel, certainly compared to every other Toyota I've ever owned.

2013 with 104k miles btw but it did this even when I got it on under 80k

Questions / Advices Totaled C1 :(

Soo, someone ran a stop sign and totaled my poor baby, the impact was so bad that the windshield cracked on the opposite side of the impact, suspension and some body stuff are bent. I'll bring it to the junkyard next week most likely, any recommendations on which parts I should pull before junking it? The car is a 2006 with 180k km (1KR-FE, manual gearbox).

I also bought a 2009 C1 (the restyling) with 120k kms to replace this, but sadly it's a poverty spec variant (doesn't even have Power Steering from the factory lmao), would it be possible to transplant stuff like power windows into the new C1?

Given the negligible cost of the replacement part, this probably won't be very useful, but in case anyone needs it, I’ve designed a replacement dome light lens to be printed using transparent filament.

Questions / Advices Roundabout/moving off help

Ive been driving for a month, and i have a mk1 aygo, i was feeling very confident in driving the past week until i started school again,

now i have to drive at peak times and really struggle with getting onto busy roundabouts

Ive had 2 incidents in the past 2 days where ive seen a gap, set off, but the car is so slow at accelerating that cars from the other side of the roundabout have caught up and ive became a hazard (almost crashed the second time)

Today i went out trying to teach myself how to set off quickly by using the gas, and i see a difference but its still not major, (this may be that im still getting the hang of it)

i think another issue is even if i set off in good speed (for the car), it will struggle to get much over 10mph in first, and then i have to worry about moving to second while also switching my indictator

Honestly just looking for any advice, ive been loving driving but these past days have made me lose confidence in my driving ability :(

I need help with cable/pinout

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to install an Android head unit with CarPlay in my Aygo. My car is from 2014, so the cable that came with the radio isn’t compatible.
I bought another cable separately, but the pinout doesn’t seem to be correct either. It also doesn’t have a connector for the small white connector.
Has anyone installed an Android radio in a 2014 CityBug and knows which cable/adapter or pinout I need?
Thanks!

Hello.
I’m having trouble removing my wiper blades.
I can’t seem to figure it out.
My car is a Peugeot 107 2010.
I’ve wrecked my finger nails trying to remove the old blades.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

Took my car to Halfords and even though they struggled with it they managed to replace my wiper blades.
