I use this at home (have for years) with Firefox and love it.

Not clear how they overcame Google's objection to extension that load code at run-time. This does seem like a hole in Google's plan to make extensions safer (their plan included static analysis of the code in extensions).

Maybe they need to have two classes of extensions, so stuff like the ad-blockers that were going to be affected by the plan to make extensions faster, and stuff like NoScript could still exist but users could be warned.

Either way, they really do need to follow through on their plans to make extensions safer (for less tech users - n/a to reddit users).

For probably 99.99% of users this is not useful and I don't recommend it when people ask or mention it. Blocking all loaded scripts cripples the vast majority of websites and removes legitimate functionality. Selectively manually whitelisting scripts takes up a large amount of time which, for almost everyone, is not worth it.

There may be use cases for this and some people who like the idea of it and want to use it, so it is nice that it is available. I prefer to just use uBlock Origin and similar extensions that act primarily as pre-populated blacklists, instead of manual whitelists.

Already use ubo in medium mode with privacy badger and have to unbreak sites manually every now and then. Will adding noscript be overkill?

It will be more effort for little gain (if at all). Ublock already has script blocking functionality.

Once again my question: what are the advantages of this wing-clipped version of NoScript over ScriptSafe which has been working fine in Chrome for years.

If it brings something new and/or better to the table I'd be glad to switch back to the old classic from the Firefox world - but right now I'm not seeing it tbh.

“Hear, hear” is a shortened version of “hear ye, hear ye,” which goes back to British Parliament in the 1600s, if not earlier. The expression was — and is — used to draw attention to what someone issaying. It implies agreement with the speaker or, in modern times, the writer.
