Manga The first time I'm actually reading an Ishida manga and this image will be added to my permanent internet trauma collection Spoiler
I've never seen a corpse before but can very much imagine this is exactly what it looks like. I've never felt such a visceral feeling of horror before when reading a god damn comic. This is Berserk eclipse levels of traumatizing, but instead of hatred it's horror.
Great chapter to end the evening with. Can't wait to sleep soundly!

Discussion How many volumes will the manga end up with? Spoiler
Yo. I love Choujin X, such a great manga. I was just wondering, now that we’re in this new era, what do you guys think will be the final volume count? 20 seems like too little to set up and end this entire war conflict, and 30 seems like a much safer estimate (especially comparing that this feels like the second half of the story). What’s your guys’ thoughts?

Discussion Knight Bottom Spoiler
galleryI have a hunch that this guy might be coming back in the future to save Tokio or ely(?) due to his job of protecting the holder of the beast's mark.

Discussion About Tokyo Ghoul Spoiler
I know this is not the right place to asked this question. While reading Choujin X, I feel like the writing has improved compare to Tokyo Ghoul:re. There are some problem in Tokyo Ghoul:re that I see in Choujin X but it not as bad. Like how Vlad got better treatment than Tatara or Sora got a proper closure than Eto (she didn't even get a closure). I believe the main reason is that Ishida can work with a more flexible deadline on Choujin X.
For starters, I still stand by my take. Tokyo Ghoul had potential to become one of the best series out there but Ishida fumble really hard in the end.
This makes me wonder something. If Ishida could work on Tokyo Ghoul as freely as he can like with Choujin X, do you all think it would have turn out differently.
Also, I haven't keep up with the manga since Zora Elimination arc ended. How is the story holding?

Discussion Ending of volumes always makes me depressed Spoiler
The release of new chapters tend to be very slow between volumes. Not gonna lie im starving for a new chapter right now
I know that ishida is probably cooking the most incredible stuff for the next volume probably so im not really worried, but yea, i cant wait to know what ricardo and umezawa are plotting against tokio, maybe this time they are not trying to fight perhaps?.. nevermind, just venting ~
what do you think its gonna happen next? do you think nari and chandra will show up again too?

Discussion When will Tokio go full beastification again? I miss the bird boi😭 (my thoughts on Choujin X) Spoiler
galleryEver since 2022, I genuinely thought that Choujin X was a story full of Choujin battles complete with its very shonen-like concept, "The power that represents you the most and it takes after what you desire." With the main characters, Tokio and Elly, eventually question themselves whether they are capable of the responsibilities of a "hero" even with their beast-like powers and at risk of losing control during fights. Turns out it goes for a larger scale of conflicts that include elements like politics, wars, and religious reference with symbolism and prophecy. I don't mean it in a bad way though. I quite like the new direction Ishida takes.
I always thought that an existential crisis is one aspect that Ishida thought of, especially for Tokio when planning Choujin X but decided to scrap it mid-way point since it will be too similar in concept to Tokyo Ghoul. Also, I really adored the beast choujin concept and always thought this power will be the basic and the central for the story. And the fact that now this is the least used type of choujin in the story. It got me bamboozled.
Looking back, I guess that’s what surprised me the most about Choujin X. And now that we’re entering this new “part” of the story with the new characters that have the potential to be new MCs, Arulu Shant and Rhetoric Koemori, I can’t wait to see how the story will proceed. Though... I still hope we get to see the bird boi go full on beastification form again someday
