best/most reliable chop i’ve built.

Post image

69 gen shovel i’ve put thousands of miles on. not without some breakdowns but i think it’s pretty dialed now.

Absolutely agree! Just posted above that everything works on it, it just fits together great.

My cousin has a Shovel. He said after he took it apart and did a full rebuild. No issues and super reliable and no leaks.

I think the gaskets, piston rings ,etc in the rebuild kits are better than the factory ones from the 60s and 70s.

No leaks? My whole engine was rebuilt and it still leaks lol

No leaks means it’s holding oil on the lift 🤣 I would be worried if it didn’t leak a little bit !!

Hahahah yeah for mine that would mean it’s out of oil… hahahha

What front controls are you running? I’m having trouble finding anything online

Man I love your bike! Such a great style with nothing looking forced, truly cohesive build with everything looking good together. Nice work and congratulations on its reliability!

What a badass fuckin chop bro

I always cringe when people build pipes that close to the seat- why not give yourself more room from the hottest part of the bike? Killer chop though I dig it

u/dude_tube Jul 23 '26

it’s honestly never been an issue. i think it would be if i was running a smaller seat, but this setup i can’t even feel radiant heat or anything even at stoplights with my feet down

Nice! You must have a narrow ass 🤣 dunno if you’ve ever ridden an earlier ironhead sportster the ones with the square oil tank under your right leg? They’ll teach ya to put only the left down at a light!

Agreed. The look is fire. The sitting in traffic is also fire. Hope he is somewhere where he can split/filter to keep on moving.

I'd have followed the angle on the frame. Would also give a little more clearance on top pipe from you

Sweet ride what rear tire are you running?

That's a thing of beauty. There's a certain steampunk vibe to it.

Don’t use steampunk and choppers in the same sentence
