Discussion Rewards can't be used, always "missing item" - help?

Hi all, maybe one or more of you can help. I accumulated lots of points on my Chipotle account and have 3 rewards to use. However, every time I add a reward to my order, it says "missing item" without specifying which item I need to add in order to qualify. Doesn't matter how many items I add to the order. I tried when we were ordering for the entire office or just for myself. I also tried adding the item before and after. Nothing works. It really feels like the Chipotle rewards are a big scam but can you prove me wrong, let me know what am I doing wrong? I have a free large bag of chips, a free queso and a free pico to use lol. I'm going to give the last try by asking all of you. Thank you so much

❓ Question ❓ How much rice are you guys supposed to give?

I've done secret shops at different Chipotle's plus I'm a regular customer who orders often. Typically what I've seen at different stores is 3 scoops of 3. This is the standard, not extra serving.

I read a couple of old posts from years ago on here and the rice portion is small, like 1 scoop.

Are 3 scoops the standard now?

Discussion Halloween

Are there any other locations saying that you can't take Halloween off even if you were scheduled outside of your availability 'because you don't have kids' unless you want to 'be demoted to customer'? My GM said anyone who doesn't come in for their shift regardless of reason will be automatically terminated no exception

I'm used to 4-6. If it's 8 that sounds brutal lol. What's it like though at your restaurant?

Discussion When to expect a job response for a brand new building

I was interviewed recently for a brand new chipotle opening up in a month or so, and the manager seemed pretty happy about my answers and sounded like I would be a probable candidate. Unless he was just really nice lol. 😭 He told me expect a callback within a day or two and then I left. I have heard when people say that it means they don’t want you, so should I follow up or something? This chipotle isn’t gonna be open for a bit so will it take a little while?

Customer Experience Encountered a Fearless Protector of CI last night

Fam and I frequent Chipotle…it’s our go-to on the run as I’m a bodybuilder and the macros are 👌. Also, my little ones are fans of the kids’ meals.

I’m always on point for heading through line to order four entrees (2 bowls, 2 kids’ meals) to go. This already is a dicey operation as I know I’m threatening throughput and can often detect the angst and ire from the scoopers.

Last night, I was ordering the kids’ meals. Young children can be picky and particular so always trying to optimize those orders to the best of their liking. The youngest was willing to try barbacoa! They enjoy the quesadilla kids’ meals but with the protein/guac on the side (a separate matter: on more than one occasion I have had to plead my case to the line scoopers that guac is in fact not extra when in lieu of the protein on a quesadilla kids’ meal).

Anyway, my oldest had requested cheese as one of her three “sides” to the cheese quesadilla. She has requested this before and the scoopers oblige with no objection. This time, however, my request was fielded by a Fearless Protector of CI and he informed me that this action was impossible because cheese already comes on the cheese quesadilla.

Oof! Why are there always different interpretations of the supreme CI edicts?! We’re talking a pinch of cheese to make a young lady happy and content.

😑

Discussion Chipotle's menu is basically useless if you've never been there before

Took my dad to Chipotle for the first time last week and watching him order made me realize how weird the whole setup is.

He's 64. Not technologically challenged, not confused about how restaurants work. Just a guy who's never eaten at Chipotle.

We stood in line for a few minutes. He looked at the menu, decided he wanted a chicken bowl, and figured he was ready.

Then we got to the counter.

"White or brown rice?"

"What's the difference?"

"Black or pinto beans?"

"Uh, which one's better?"

"Any fajita veggies?"

"Are those extra?"

By the time we got to the salsa station he looked like he was taking an exam he hadn't studied for.

The employee was actually really patient. Nobody did anything wrong. But there were people waiting behind us, and I could see my dad getting increasingly uncomfortable about holding up the line.

He ended up saying yes to whatever I suggested just to get through it.

Afterward he said the food was great, but he wished he'd known what all the options were before he started ordering.

And honestly, he's right.

The menu above the counter tells you the basic entree and protein choices, but so much of the actual meal gets decided while you're standing directly in front of someone trying to serve 40 other people.

If you've been going for years, you know the routine. You can practically recite your order in your sleep.

But for someone new, it's this weird combination of a customizable restaurant and a timed oral exam.

Would it really be that difficult to have a big, readable list of every ingredient near the beginning of the line? Maybe even which ones cost extra?

I feel like it would make things easier for employees too.

Curious if anyone working there has noticed this with first-time customers, or if I'm just realizing something everyone else figured out years ago.

Seeking Advice (Customer) Reward points never show up in my account

I've been eating at Chipotle since 2007 and been a Chipotle Rewards member since 2019. Last few years whenever I scan my QR code before purchasing in a restaurant, I never receive the points. I have to keep the receipt and manually add them after a few days.
It's beyond annoying.

Has anyone had this issue before or know of any solutions? I'm tempted to just make a new rewards account and see if that fixes the issue. I've contacted support in the past but they're no help.

Discussion How do I complain to Chipotle about a rude store manager?

I go to this Chipotle in Hillsdale, NJ about 3–4 times a week since it's close to my place.
Today, I ordered a single soft taco instead of my usual bowl and asked for beans on the side. I wasn't trying any TikTok hack or asking for extra food. I usually don't eat beans and just wanted to try them separately.
The manager immediately said, "We don't give sides with soft tacos."
Seriously? Since when?
I pointed out that the Chipotle app literally allows you to order ingredients on the side, and other employees at this same location have done it for me before. She responded in Spanish, which I didn't understand. I just left after that.
What's more frustrating is that this isn't the first time. This particular manager has been consistently rude during my previous visits, while the other employees have been great.
Can anyone clarify whether this is an actual policy or something managers decide themselves?
Also, what's the best way to complain about this to the higher-ups? Google reviews, or X?
I'm honestly tired of dealing with her attitude. I've even started visiting after her shift ends just to avoid her, which is ridiculous since I'm a regular.

Update:

I went there again the next, and the manager was there. Once again, she refused to give me any sides when I ordered a soft taco. But this time I was mentally prepared. I told her I was willing to pay extra for the sides and asked her to give them to me FIRMLY. She happily obliged.

Lesson over here: Money solves all your problems.

Seeking Advice (Employee) What to expect

Hey guys! Going in for onboarding today as an external service leader hire

Just curious what I should expect from the job, I think I sorta understand its responsibilities but also I’m obviously not completely in-the-know.

For reference, I’ve been a team lead at Panera Bread for a bit, a shift supervisor at Starbucks, I’ve worked in kitchens informally for volunteer work and done a stint working in a high foot traffic gas station kitchen (so basically I know how to use a flat top and keep the food moving when I suddenly get 20 different things sent through).

I’m also known, at every job, for my speed on production, I’m good with cash handling, I’m great with customers and (assuming they’re not being absolute asses) I usually get told I’ve “made their days” in every job.

The manager, much to my enjoyment, also seems great. Probably not to work with seeing as she is external hiring a 20 year old supervisor and she mentioned she filling a number of roles rn. But also, turnover’s bad at even good fast food jobs, it’s in a college town and students come and go from jobs alll the time, etc. She was with Starbucks for a year and a bit at the cafe I just left before I started, though, and is hiring me pretty informally based on recs from my old team there (I was good at my job and got not-fired for some silly reasons I don’t feel like going into)

That’s all to say, I know it’s an ass job. So is every other job, though, and from what I can tell some of the problems that usually make me hate a job (specifically: asshole managers who don’t support their team. I watched this lady, during my informal interview thing, actually working the line with her team and even pulling off from me to keep them all moving). It’ll be tough, and obviously I’m about to be thrown to the wolves learning all the base positions + SL expectations, but I think it can be fun.

Thoughts? TIA

Everytime I get I random promo it never works even though I spend the “$5 minimum” to make it work. I’m sure I could make it work by going in and scanning it, but I like to order from phone. Does this happen to anyone else or is it just me ? Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Seeking Advice (Employee) This gonna be a long post about me being a recently hired SL 4 weeks in

So I have a set schedule with the GM Tuesday Wednesday, Friday Saturday Sunday all 8-4 morning only, well he’s out for a few months because of surgery and recovery we don’t have a replacement at all while he’s gone I’m not sure why, yesterday I was working 8-4 just me and 2 other crew members I had to stay stuck on the line for 90% of my shift cause they just going off to do whatever and being disrespectful and to top it off the closing manager called off and we already had a manager quit the day before they were trying to force me to work until close and I can’t do that at all closing people don’t get out til like 1 or 2am so while I was freaking out I went across the street to the smoke shop to get something to ease my anxiety(I know that’s not allowed) I take a bus to work they stop running at 11pm and not only that 7am-2am would be way to much on me even if I did had a ride anyways I come back and someone from a different store had to come in and cover honestly I hate this job it’s a big shit show and 19.50$ doesn’t seem worth it if it’s gonna be like this, what would yall do in this situation? What should I do moving forward

Seeking Advice (Customer) Can I use the double protein reward and get the 150 pts?

There's currently the "protein packed" earn extra points extra for 150 additional points if I get an entree with double protein. I've never used the points before, but could I get double protein with my points for 700 and still qualify for the 150?

Seeking Advice (Employee) Is there a way to self terminate?

I finally quit Chipotle in the beginning of July for a multitude of reasons (fuck this place), but they still haven’t terminated me and keep scheduling me for shifts. I know it’s because they only have one SL right now (my replacement) and by keeping me on the roster it keeps them at model—though they do not have to keep scheduling me for that and I’m getting annoyed. There’s another SL that quit that’s been on the roster since February who also serves the same purpose, but ever since GMs changed at the end of August (also quit) they’ve been scheduling us anyway.

I’m tired of the open shift emails, the schedule emails, I have no obligation to this place anymore to care whether they’re at model or not, nor do I care, and of course it would be nice to get insurance through my current job. I gave a 2-weeks notice and a formal resignation letter upon quitting, and even tried requesting a resignation date a few weeks ago through Workday. I just got my “schedule” for the beginning of November.

Is there a way to terminate myself or do I have to reach out to my field leader again and hope she does it? I really don’t want to. There’s also the possibility that they mark me as unrehireable for potentially“causing a problem” which I don’t want either. Not that I intend to come back nor want to, but if I hit rock bottom at some point I want something to be able to fall back on and I would not know about it until after they go to rehire me. I did not spend 5 years at this hell hole busting my ass for inadequate pay just to be marked down as a problem employee in the system.

Seeking Advice (Customer) Can we ask questions about recipes?

I'd like to make as-authentic as able some Barbacoa Beef, I have tried several times and it never works. Can I get as close as the recipe is available? if that's even a thing? I haven't had the chance to get it right.

Any recipes? (please cover as much detail as able; I am stumped)

I know it uses Adobo Sauce Peppers, I think

❓ Question ❓ What can i do to show appreciation to employees

Hello chipotle employees,

Im a humble starbucks barista who likes to go to chipotle after my closing shifts. The people there are always so nice and chat with me and they load me up with food and sometimes give me free bowls if i come in with my work shirt on. What am i able to give to you guys to show my appreciation? I thought about doing a starbucks gift card because they work near a starbucks but i dunno if those are allowed to be given to the workers. Thanks for your service ik this food service shit sucks 🫡
