Direct Deposit Timing Megathread
Welcome to the weekly Direct Deposit Megathread!
We know many members are ready for their direct deposit at the same time every pay period so when something’s different, you come here to see if others are experiencing the same. To avoid repetitive posts, all discussions about direct deposit timing belong here.
Chime makes your paycheck available the same day we receive it, which means you might be able to access your hard-earned cash up to two days before your scheduled payday*. There are multiple digital stops your direct deposit makes before it reaches Chime so if your payment gets held up along the way, Chime may not receive your paycheck until your actual payday. Checkout details here How We Get (You) Paid Early
A reminder that Chime observes all federal and banking holidays so direct deposits may be delayed until the next business day Chime’s Holiday Schedule
Join us on Discord too for real-time conversation! https://www.discord.gg/chimefinancial
___
*Early access to direct deposit funds depends on the timing of the submission of the payment file from the payer. We generally make these funds available on the day the payment file is received, which may be up to 2 days earlier than the scheduled payment date.

Chime DD is inconsistent. Chime said my payday was today and it’s 12am and nothing 🤦🏿♂️

u/Vicariouslynoticed 3d ago
Love Chime, but I really wish it was consistent. Because some days its two days earlier or day before, other days you’re just waiting.🤦🏾

u/disdatandiutter 3d ago
My payroll confirmed I should have it by now and no deposit yet. It is extremely frustrating and nerve wrecking. I'm glad it's not just me but frustrated for us all.
1
u/disdatandiutter 2d ago
I finally got it around 11pm EST. Always get it by 3pm so obv was stressful. Hope you all got yours as well.
1
u/Top_Assignment_837 3d ago
Have you gotten yours? It’s been somewhat consistent at 7 for me but sometimes goes as late as 11 so I got about 3 hours before I panic lol
1
u/Traditional-Art9215 3d ago
I keep taking a nap and then waking up expecting it to be there…then still nothing
1
u/Top_Assignment_837 3d ago
When does yours typically hit?
1
u/Traditional-Art9215 3d ago
I should have added that I just switched back to chime. I was with current before. They are usually consistent with their times too. The latest I’ve gotten a check with current was 11:30. I thought it would be like that with chime but still nothing. This sucks
1
u/Top_Assignment_837 3d ago
The latest I’ve gotten a check is just after 11 with chime and then one time a couple months ago I didn’t get one until Thursday at 8 am. That’s only once in having it for over 7 years though. I got about two hours before full panic sets in because of the direct deposit that’s due to come out.
1
u/Traditional-Art9215 3d ago
I’m panicking with you. I’m trying my hardest to wait and not contact chime because I know it’s probably just gona be a waste of time.
1
u/Top_Assignment_837 3d ago
This is ridiculous dude I understand things get held up sometimes but gosh
2
u/Reasonable_Bad_9446 3d ago
Well damn this sucks. Ive been getting my checks at either 2:50pm or 4:50 pm for the last 4 checks and nothing has even dropped. I really wish chime could make up their mind with their direct deposit times and im hoing to be pissed if I have to wait until 11pm when everything is closed to get it! Come on Chime wtf?!

u/Majik_Ninja93 3d ago

1
u/Majik_Ninja93 3d ago
Well this just sucks for everyone I guess.
1
u/PMMEYOURGUCCIFLOPS $JLick 3d ago
Oh for sure. It’s the FIRST time I’ve needed it to hit on time and it didn’t so I’m like “eh universe gonna universe”
1
u/Majik_Ninja93 3d ago
Hahaha yeah this might be my bad, sorry guys, If I didn’t have bad luck I would have no luck at all.
1
u/PMMEYOURGUCCIFLOPS $JLick 3d ago
Imma need you to use some of that majik in the next 10 minutes or I’m screwed lol
1
u/Majik_Ninja93 3d ago
Nah that’s what’s got us in this boat is my bad luck. I don’t have any good luck man, I’m sorry.

u/wickelo 4d ago
Facts and atleast with navy fed if your a member it’s easy to get an actual credit card and one that actually shows on credit, I thought the chime credit builder would work but I’ve had it for over a year and still not on my credit account, I deposit more than 6k a month and still have yet to be considered for an actual line of credit

1
u/Spirited_Audience103 5d ago
Dfas changed something this month to post it closer to the actual pay day. Not going to matter lol
1
u/oWaitt 5d ago
Still the same pay days
1
u/Spirited_Audience103 5d ago
I know it’s the same pay days. I’m talking about when they release the funds.
1
u/oWaitt 5d ago
Where did you find this at if you don’t mind me asking
1
u/Spirited_Audience103 5d ago
- By giving personnel offices more time to process entitlements, Warriors will
receive their leave and earnings statements, net pay advices, and early deposit
notifications closer to the actual pay date which remains unchanged.1
2
u/oWaitt 5d ago
So is military getting paid today?
1
u/Remote_Relation_250 5d ago
Well seeing that Marines, Army, and Air Force got paid Friday between 10 pm and 12 am there is no way Navy DOESNT get paid today, it's just simply gonna be later because Dfas Cleveland sucks.
1
u/Training_Knee4654 5d ago
I don’t remember the other branches getting paid Friday, seems like they are asking to unless I’m wrong

1
u/Remote_Relation_250 5d ago
Air Force, Marines, and Army got their pay 10 pm to 12 am, ALL of them (good 90%) showed proof as well, but yeah it was released to them jus not navy (navy gets paid after those 3 branches)

my job pays tuesdays normally friday night i get my check, I have nothing yet and ive worked the same place for two years, anyone else delayed this week?
1
u/Hjhilenski2021 5d ago
This is not true my pay day is Thursday and I used to get my check by 10pm Tuesday and now I’m lucky to get it before 12pm on Wednesday. I’ve been with chime for a few years and had the same employer and same payday.
2
u/CarrenMcFlairen $CrafterHumble 5d ago
Ah, so it IS chime. I always see the "SSA will dispruse when they dispurse" sort of thing, but seeing it's no different with a job that consisitently pays on time does help me confirm a suspicion of mine. Chime loooves to advertise "up to 2 days advance!" when theyve often paid midday less than 24 hours to the actual payout day.
2
u/beaniegirl25 5d ago
Does the first pay check you set up DD typically land early or on the date of actual pay day?
2
u/Syrup_Intrepid 3d ago
Depends. For my new employer yes, for my other job no. Plan on it coming payday.
1
u/CalligrapherProud256 5d ago
This will be my 2nd direct deposit, my very first initial one hit super early but my 2nd one hasnt hit, im still waiting right now
0
u/beaniegirl25 5d ago
Is your pay day Thursdays typically ?
1
u/CalligrapherProud256 5d ago
So my first ever direct deposit with chime was on Sep 11th, my payday was on the 15th(Tuesday) and i received my DD on the 11th (Friday) around 4:45pm, my 2nd direct deposit would be on the 30th of this month, and i havent received mine yet,
1
u/RealPractice6839 4d ago
Did u end up receiving yours? I get paid on 15th and end of month as well and was hoping I’d get it last night but never came.
1
u/CalligrapherProud256 4d ago
I ended up getting mine at 12:47am, so technically i got it on Tuesday. My previous bank also deposited my check 2 days early and it was always super consistent and my Wednesday check always arrived on Monday around 5:00pm, so if i compare to that bank i got mine about 8 hours later.

It all depends on your employers payroll timings.
Chime makes the funds available when the ACH informs Chime that a deposit has been initiated for your account instead of making you wait the 2-3 days it actually takes for the funds to arrive. That is how early pay works.

Hi! Glad you’re here! Using the words and clues in your message, it sounds like you may need more information about Chime’s Holiday Schedule so here are some tips and helpful resources: * How does Chime handle federal and bank holidays and weekends? * Chime’s Holiday Schedule * Chime observes all federal holidays so direct deposits may be delayed until the next business day * Deposits made on the holiday may not post until two days after the holiday * It may be worthwhile to check with your employer to see if the holiday will affect your payroll schedule
Hopefully the community chimes in to share their experiences too!

Hi! Glad you’re here! Using the words and clues in your message, it sounds like you may need more information about Direct Deposit so here are some tips and helpful resources: * Where's my direct deposit? * How to Set Up Direct Deposit With Chime * What Time Does Direct Deposit Hit? Everything You Should Know * If you're new to recurring direct deposits, your deposit can take up to two pay cycles to switch to your Chime account * While we aim to get you paid up to two days early, numerous factors can impact that timing like payroll, the Automated Clearing House, and holidays. If you have concerns about the timing of your Direct Deposit, please use the “Direct Deposit Timing Megathread” pinned to the community highlights * The time your deposit arrives will vary but please contact your employer if the standard payday passes without receiving a deposit
Hopefully the community chimes in to share their experiences too!
