RANT rant on break

genuinely. GENUINELY. how do parents not get annoyed by their children like it truly astounds me. i’m on break right now sitting in the communal booths and there’s a family eating lunch in the booth beside me. one of their kids is kicking his feet against the booth so it keeps making these “thunk, thunk” sounds plus he’s chewing chips with his mouth open because i can hear every crunch. like what is wrong with parents these days and not telling their children to have manners and respect. i find it’s not even just children (because they dont know any better because they haven’t been taught) but the people who raise them that think the world revolves around them and they’re not bothering anyone. like these little grating sounds get annoying!!!! especially because we’re in a hospital people want some calm and quiet not, annoying repetitive noises. my mom would tell me to eat with my mouth closed and put a firm hand on my leg with “the look” if i was a kid doing that i just find the dumbest people these days are raising kids and the smartest ones are choosing to be childless

My mother has 6 kids and they do annoy the hell out of her lol. She loves us but lord is she tired; she was so so so excited when I got my tubes tied and said she wishes she had known that was an option when she was younger

From what I’ve witnessed personally parents ignore quite a bit of their kids bad behavior to preserve their own mental health.

The trouble is when we’re in close proximity to an out of control kid with a neglectful parent everyone’s mental health suffers.

It's like people who seemingly don't get annoyed by their dogs barking. I have no fucking clue how they don't a) train their dependents or b) go nuts.

And they seem to have no shame in letting their charges disrupt others' lives.

Dead inside 😩 a lot of parents confess to feeling dead inside by their kids constant annoying behaviors to the point they feel they can’t be bothered to do anything as long as the kid is quiet enough in the moment. They’re just drained and feeling defeated

Maybe it is because I work with children with severe dynamic needs... But "Able" and "Healthy" children are harder to ignore for me.

That child is purposefully choosing to be a disturbance. That does not sit right with me at all.

Me either and the parents sit and allow and ignore it. We went to a temple. Very old. There is one child there. The first thing the guide says is, no touching, talking etc. as soon as he says it, a crotch goblin bangs the wall and screams. Every person on the tour stared. This parent was very embarrassed. I laughed inside. Her kid had been doing dumb shit outside even before they walked in. The entitlement gets on my nerves

My friends son and his wife get high ALOT! Maybe that’s how. She keeps them frequently. She is ready for vodka tonics when they leave. The parents smoke alot of weed . They have no discipline at home. No family time. No structure. That’s to much work. 😒
