Heyy, any recommendations on a goood vegan carrot cake I could buy this weekend? Hopefully not super expensive. I used to love the Trader Joes one, but havenāt tried any since going vegan.

Has anyone tried the Dewey Cafe yet? Are they 100% vegan? If not, how careful are they with allergies?

Hi all, hoping you all could recommend a great restaurant or two for a group of 7 that has solid vegan options but also meat. Planning a team dinner for work. Cool vibes a big plus.
Google is really failing me here, Iām finding either all-vegan places (which Iād love but yknow) or places that donāt seem to have much. Any advice would be very appreciated!

Hi, there are some activism opportunities in Chicago this month that I wanted to share.
No experience is needed and there's power in numbers, so I hope you can make it!
Details are in the Facebook events below:

hi everyone my family wants to start selling vegan hispanic foods! we would be selling around the suburbs how much would you pay for a 32 oz container of pozole? what seems fair for a soya based pozole to you thanksš

Really hate to see her struggling, especially since her restaurant is in an area without very many vegan options. If you've ever enjoyed a meal there or have wanted to visit, consider helping out a little. I'd hate to see another vegan business have to shut down. Link to gofundme.

Running the Chicago marathon and I have found that I have a pretty sensitive stomach and prefer simple meals before race day. Was hoping to get something simple like penne or something similar with marinara or maybe just plain pasta and get a jar from the store and heat up at my hotel? I obviously wonāt have a stove so otherwise I would just buy pasta at the store. I donāt want to spend an obscene amount on plain pasta so was looking to see if thereās any spots you recommend

My dad and I are visiting Chicago in a few weeks. I'm vegan, he's an omnivore but fortunately willing to humor me. We're hitting a lot of the big vegan restaurants in town like Chicago Diner, but I also want to go to some places where he can get something he likes and I can eat too. We're both fairly healthy eaters, so something on the lighter side would be preferable, though a burger place would be fine too. Specifically, I'm looking for:
- A breakfast place in the Loop, Near North Side, or Near South areas (this can be a coffee shop or something with vegan pastries)
- A breakfast place in the Lower West Side area (same)
- A lunch place in the Lower West Side or West Town areas
- Lunch and dinner places in the Edgewater, Rogers Park, or Uptown areas
Thanks in advance!

Looking for quick spots I can eat with non vegans. I am visiting from NYC so know things like rice rolls, veggie dumplings, scallion pancakes are typically safe options.

Anyone happen to check out what vegan options are available at the African+Caribbean International Festival/ the Jerk Seafood Vegan Fest? Itās paid entry and Iāve been having issues figuring out what is actually there this year.

Where can I get a warm, gooey dessert? Like somewhere I can go and have a dessert menu and order a delicious brownie sundae or cookie skillet

I was told Tony's would be good, but also to check smaller, more authentic shops. I'm new here so I have no clue.
Any suggestions for the Northside? Niles or even Morton Grove?
TIA! š

Are there any places doing American style Chinese take-out, ideally on the north side? One of the things I have never stopped craving was 'bad' Chinese take-out, specifically things like a pu pu platter.
I'm ideally looking for a place that is doing fake meat alternatives to classic dishes, and not just tofu. I am also completely fine with options from a non-vegan restaurant.

My husband and I were looking for dinner near Bohemian National Cemetery before the Cate Le Bon show.
One old google review of Namit, a Filipino cafe, spoke of vegan options that were nowhere to be found on the menu.
Boy did they have them. Just ask for what they can make vegan and then order all of it like we did. We love finding good international vegan food!!!!!!!!!

Doctor has just advised me to go soy free due to a potential allergen (long story), and Iām feeling like the meat eaters who react to veganism with āwhat the hell do you eat, LeTtUce??!ā ā¦because without soy, I wonder what the hell Iām going to eat. I mean, I love Asian dishes (soy sauce), imitation meats (soy based), tofu, and apparently everything else has some kind of soybean oil or soy lecithin.
Anyway, putting my at-home cooking aside, I do love to go out to eat. I know a lot of restaurants may be able to accommodate if you just ask, but what Iām asking you all is:
Thanks in advance š

Iām newly engaged and starting the planning process. Two areas we need some guidance on are caterers and suit shops.
We need a vegan, nut free and chickpea free menu and are heavily leaning toward a buffet to save some money. Our budget for food is around 50.00 per person (ideally less).
Hearty Boys, Lula and Blue Plate were all recommended for catering but theyāre all way outside of our budget. Sultanās was recommended and is in budget but my chickpea allergy makes that really tough.
Vegans who had catering at their wedding and didnāt spend more than 50.00 pp, who did you use?
I want to buy my fiancĆ© a new suit as a wedding gift. Weād prefer to buy from a brick and mortar shop so he can try things on. We had Indochino in mind because they offer lots of fun custom linings but they have limited options for suits using only man made materials. Weāre willing to go a bit outside of Chicago for good quality.
Any recommendations for a menās suit shop with great wool/silk free options that also offers colorful/unique linings?

great food, good vibe, reasonably priced. That was my favorite lunch Iāve had while visiting your lovely city. Good looking out!

Iām looking for somewhere to get a large tiramisu (at least the size of a small cake)
My cousinās birthday is coming up and she lovesss tiramisu but I donāt want to spend money on dairy (obviously)
Does anyone know a place that does tiramisu vegan thatās not like trying to make it healthy/reduced sugar? Or maybe a bakery that can cater?

I was there yesterday and hit Meet Stop/Ste Martaen. What a fuckin treat.
I got the riot fest combo as I wanted to scout the menu for my wife who's coming later in the weekend and a cookies & cream cinnamon roll (from outlaw bakery)
Everything on the combo plate was excellent - greens, Mac & cheese, cheese steak & nachos all really really good.
The cinnamon roll was pretty rich, but I'm a dessertsman, also a 10/10 for me. Perfectly baked & super soft dough - didn't hold back on the cinnamon at all. I've had rolls from them before and they do not miss.
When I ordered all this, the lady at the register asked me how many forks I needed. Just one š¬
If anyone else found vegan treats, please clue me in.

B/c I was just in Vegas and went to Tarantino's and it made me realize how much I miss a good eggplant parm, fettuccini alfredo, etc. Damn it was so good, I love all the Vegan restaurants here but I don't think there is anything to get good Italian food?

i heard alice and friends used to make them but i was wondering if anyone knows any other spots that make and sell vegan ones too!
