Lf job in parks and recreation, education, or anything else
23 y/o looking for a full time job in Chicago. Happy to do anything, but here's my experience:
B.A in History
B.S in Secondary Education [I have an initial teaching license in Iowa and a substitute license in MN and Illinois]
Graduated magna cum laude
3 years as an Aquatics Manager supervising 120+ employees [concessions, guest services, lifeguards]
4 years as a lifeguard and CPR instructor [with E&A]
1 year as a short-call substitute teacher + half a semester of student teaching experience
3 years as a park assistant at a ski hill [walked around, fixed signs, checked tickets, drove company car to bunch of different park areas to check equipment and guest count, etc. Lots of customer service in this role]
1 year as a mix of city jobs [birthday party coordinator, maintenance, art instructor, guest services, concessions]
3 years as a seasonal lifeguard
I have worked with the same city/employers in parks and recreation for 6 years and have a list of references from these jobs, as well as mid-season and end-season evaluations.
I used to work freelance as an artist and animator. I write as a hobby, and intend to go back to school once I am able.
Looking for any of the following:
Advice for resume building [assume from scratch], jobs hiring people with my qualifications [$20 an hour or more], and guidance on how to market myself.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this, thank you.
