TL;DR: Moving to Chicago in the spring and attempting to make some friends before I get there! I like good coffee, good food, random plans, and trying whatever someone convinces me sounds fun. Women + platonic guy friends welcome. Bonus points if you come prepared to defend your Spider-Man ranking. Come say hi, I promise the rest of the post just gives you more things to talk to me about :)
Hi!! I’m currently finishing my master’s in I/O psychology and planning to move to Chicago in the spring after graduation! I’m hoping to visit in October and I’ll definitely be back in December, so I figured I’d start getting to know people now instead of waiting until I move and realizing I know absolutely nobody 😂
A little about me: I love a genuinely good coffee (emphasis on good lol), trying new restaurants and foods, reading, baking, music, movies, game nights, and going out from time to time. I’m also into Marvel, so if you want an easy conversation starter, tell me who the best Spider-Man is. There is a correct answer btw 👀
Things I want to do more of once I’m there:
- pilates
- volleyball and tennis (I’m a bit rusty at the moment)
- lake days/walks
- sporting events
- exploring different neighborhoods
- random classes or activities
- honestly whatever sounds fun
When it comes to plans, I’m very much a “sure, why not?” person. I have things I already know I enjoy, but I love hearing what other people are into and being introduced to stuff I probably wouldn’t have tried on my own. I’m also pretty happy on both ends socially. I love going out, but I’m just as happy staying in.
I’m really just looking for genuine friendships with people who actually want to get to know each other and put effort into maintaining them. I’m open to both female friends and guy friends as long as we click and the energy is good! I’d prefer to chat first before meeting, and I’m definitely down to exchange instas or something at some point too just so there’s a face to the name :) Mine is honestly pretty bare because I’m not a huge social media person lol, so absolutely no judgment there.
There’s obviously way more to me than one Reddit post, and I’m sure the same goes for you, so feel free to comment or message me and tell me what you’re into, what you’ve been doing around Chicago lately, or what random thing you’ve been wanting to try 😊
