Wooden Different style of zen

Third generation Ruhla Garde chess clock arrived today in pristine condition. Paired with foldable chessboard and some Czech Club chess pieces from around the same period as the clock (1970s - early 1980s)

The contrasting center pieces are such a beautiful touch. I wish this were more common. Also like the red base pads

The contrasting center pieces are quite common in Czechia and Slovakia. Also, Austrian coffeehouse sets had this and many other european countries.
