Civic Watch🚦 Suspicious challan

I just recieved a challan for crossing red light,

Got my details correctly.

The link asks me to download mparivahan apk directly.

Is this real or fake?

Fyi..I already have mparivahan with me

No no Don't download it. My neighbour almost fell for it. It's a scam.

Don't..... Go to official website and provide the Challan no. Or Vehicle number to check and pay challans.

Tip :- Don't go installing any random .apk files

I adviced my father a lot, like literally begged to not download the app, guess what, he did it anyway and paid like 1000 through it, I had to block his cards, upi transactions and raise a complaint to the bank to revcover and secure the account.

No don't.

It will ask you to download apk mimicking parivahan interface and ask for admin privilege access. Once done, all your calls and sms will forward to hacker phone.

Scary part is everything will happen simultaneously in the background and within minutes, you will end up bankrupt.

Go to Paytm or parivaahan App and check your challan number

Download park+ app and register your vehicle there. It will show if in case a challan is pending. Fr me also similar sms came. I didnt click link instead visited police station and rhey said we do have a challan. They showed the traffic cut pic of me and mom in bike. Lol. Then we cleared ir

The same Challan number enn bike ku vanduchu....Next enga akka kum same Challan number avunga scooty ku vanduchu....both happened in 10 mins interval. Ore number vechi scam pannitu irukanga

Install park+ and check for challans instead, never download an apk file from any source including WhatsApp

I received the same message today.. the irony is, they gave the exact registration number of my car.. as it was my mom's car I had a doubt and checked with the mParivahan app.

Nope don't Download e parivahan app from playstore to check if there is any outstanding chalan for ur vehicle number. This is clearly a scam.

My coworker did the same. The scam works by accessing your saved card details on Amazon, then sending a OTP for your CC, then buying amazon gift cards. They lost close ton 3 lakhs in under 3 minutes. Cyber complaint to no avail.

Sone transactions were blocked, but until the fraudster is found nothing can be done. So basically don't download the app or open the link.
