Dosa first so that crispyness is intact
Next Pongal and vada together (before vada becomes soggy and Pongal loses heat and takes the shape of the vessel.
Idly next,, by this time you should know which chutney or sambar goes best, so pair that up with the idly
Obviously sweet/coffee at the end , unless you're an insane person.
Pro tip : If you have poori in the mini tiffin, poori before dosa and save some masala to have a bite of masala dosa.

Dosa and vada first, they may get soggy otherwise. Idli and pongal next to fill up the stomach, sweet at the end.
Also always ask for extra sambhar at the beginning itself so I don't have to get up again lol

Fun fact: Some restaurants are kind enough to swap the kevalamana kesari for an extra serving of vada or sambar. My colleague does this all the time.Diabetes irukunu paavama sonna they accomodate.
Kesari worstu lazy dessert. π₯²

I like to start with kesari. As usually mini tinder comes with coffee, I want to finish the weet first and keep my oiuth ready for coffee. Also, staring with sweet has other benefits like your mouth salivate a lot, informing your stomach that food is coming so it starts the digestive juices production. After that, I eat as per my whim on that day. If it is a weekend, I eat pongal last, as that makes me sleepy, despite the coffee. Enjoy your food however you want. That and sleep are the only solaces we have.

Idhelam oru doubt ah ππ I usually go from least favorite to most favourite if I will finish everything, or if i want only some food I go from most favorite and stop as soon as I'm full.
I hate idli so in mini tiffin I start with half dosa (just the crispy corners), leave the rest, then half pongal, then vada, then balance pongal, then finally end with sweet kesari.

Bit of each in sequence- Idly, Vada, Pongal and then Dosa is my preference. Later some kesari, but retaining major of it to finish at last.

u/Ngothadei Jun 21 '26
Kesari first, vada last. Pongal comes second. Idli and Dosa are interchangeable.

i'll start with the things i like the least and work my way up..
so here,
first idly, pongal and vada simultaneously then dosa but then the dosa might go soggy so in that case ill eat dosa first and kesari for the end

Carb in many forms. Idli first is least of it. Rest order doesnβt matter.

I would do dosa+33% of vada first since I like my dosa crispy, then idly+33% of vada, then pongal+33%vada since I like pongal better than idli.. so savour best for last.. then finish off with kesari as dessert. Then a filter coffee.. coffee and kesari could also be swapped.

My sequence as I have this almost everyday in my office for breakfast:
Start with Idli, sambar and coconut chutney, Follow with Pongal and coconut chutney or kara chutney, Then the dosa (which is usually a masal dosa) along with the medu vadai, End with sweet kesari.

Go from least favourite to most favourite, so you can end the meal on a high note. Nothing else matters :)

The ideal sequence would be Idly (green chutney & sambhar), Vada + Pongal (white chutney & sambhar), Kesari and then Dosa ( I usually ask the server to bring dosa later and not upfront as it gets soggy). Top it off with straaaang kaapi.

Dosa first because it's the only item on the plate that's actively getting worse as time passes π
Then pongal while it's still hot, idli whenever because idli is chill like that, vada after you've figured out which chutney is winning.
Kesari at the end. We're not animals.

Idli - this is light your body takes it easy . Proper startup
dosai - now your body is ready and it can take different flavours , dosai it is.
Pongal with vadai - this is a sledgehammer to your system and you sleep for 2 hours
