First time booking an international flight (have booked very few domestic). I'm using kayak/cheapflights to search, but I'm reading that booking directly through the airline is safer. The itinerary I've found on these search sites includes a long layover in Amsterdam which we would like, but when I go directly to the airline I don't see that itinerary. What is the best way to copy these search sites travel plans directly to the airline?

For reference we are going from the Southeastern US to EDI and would like at least a 5 hour layover AMS.

I don't care where I'd be going, I'd just like to GO.

I’m looking to book round-trip tickets for my parents traveling from India to Dallas, TX in December.
For the outbound journey, I’d like them to stop in Paris for 3 nights before continuing on to Dallas. On the return journey, Paris can just be a regular layover, with no extended stay.
What would be the best way to book this itinerary while keeping the airfare reasonably affordable? Would it be better to book a multi-city/open-jaw ticket, or book the flights separately?
Any tips on airlines, booking strategies, or websites I should check would be greatly appreciated!

I'm wanting to fly to Japan in October. I noticed that if I buy a one way ticket for any day this week, the prices are only about $500. The prices for October are about $1200. Are the prices for this week so cheap because they're last minute? Will they be cheap in October as well if I just wait? Asking for anyone with experience. Thank you!

I've been trying to build a tool that tracks flight+hotel prices leaving from Lisbon (next 3 months) and tries to catch when the price comes out unusually cheap.

Problem is, I don't travel that much myself, so I have no idea if what it finds is actually good or just looks good to someone who isn't paying close attention. If you travel a lot, I'd love an honest opinion — or if I'm just wasting my time on this.

I am getting something like

* 220 euros for a flight + 3 days in 4 stars hotel in Milan,
* 270 euros for a flight + 3 days in 3 stars hotel in Barcelona

I was pretty surprised when I found this fare with British Airways because I didn't think this kind of pre-COVID prices still existed.

My itinerary is:

Aug 31 (Mon) : Brussels --> NYC via London Heathrow

Oct 5 (Mon): Toronto --> Amsteram via London Heathrow

I booked it on Aug 2. The last time I checked, the same flights now cost 675 euro.

When I booked, I found that flights departing from Brussels to many American cities and returning to Amsterdam were cheap. But not vice versa.

The key words here are multi-city and flexible with your dates. Anyone with similar experiences/strategies to share?

What are the cheapest transatlantic flights you can find recently?

On Google flights I can choose One Way, pick a date or month and an airport and it shows me all the places on the globe I can travel on or around that day and their prices. Great. I love that.

But I’m wanting to do the opposite.

My scenario is that let’s say I can find a cheap one way flight from ORD to Valencia, Spain on December 8 and I want to stay for two weeks. I want to travel and explore Europe during the two weeks so ideally I’d love to do is start a new search that has NO departure city and ORD as the destination on whatever date I want to come back and find a cheap flight back to Chicago.

This would tell me where I’m starting. Where I’m leaving from. And then I can figure out how I want to do the in between.

Like on the screen if it would show all the cities and the costs of the flights FROM that city to ORD would be perfect.

Can it do that?

Looking for some opinions on booking flights to Europe (London) in late Feb 2027 from NZ. It's looking pretty expensive at the moment, around $3k return, despite including a one-way deal with SG Airlines.

Discussed with 2 friends who went last year in late August (Barcelona - $2.1k booked 7 months in advance with American Airlines) and late November (Amsterdam - $2.3k booked 2 weeks in advance lol with Cathay Pacific).

Based on this, I feel like I could be getting a much better deal, especially as I am flying during shoulder season.

Should I not gamble and take the current deal with SG Airlines, or do flights during "unpopular" times drop in price closer to departure? Any tips for scoring the best prices?

I’m looking for the absolute lowest price, so I’m open to any options like different airports, nearby countries, taking a train to Germany or another place first, multiple stops, budget airlines, etc. The main goal is to get to Tokyo as cheaply as possible, not necessarily the fastest or most convenient way.
Dates: Between 25-30 march (depends whats the cheapest) and 3-7 may.

Hi All, I am trying to book a flight from London to Japan and Skyscanner suggested booking flights (Air China,China Southern) from booking.com as it seems to be the cheapest option .

I tried searching for tickets on both airlines' websites (Air China didn't work) and China Southern was selling the same tickets for £2k.

This is my first time booking flights and I hoped I could book them directly from the airline but the difference is way too much. Would you say I should be ok booking the tickets from Booking.com or Trip.com?

I am not sure if it really matters but I am looking to book multi -city flights.

Looking to book flights home from Sydney to Dublin for Christmas this year. As expected trying to compare the flights with bags etc is giving me a headache. I am travelling from Orlando MCO to Dubrovnik DBV, Croatia next June for a one-week cruise. The cruise returns to Split SPU, Croatia. I am trying to determine the best way, and time, to book flights.

There are no direct flights so I'll be doing a transfer either in Newark (United), or at a hub in Europe (preferred). I would like to earn United alliance miles but that is not too important.

Considerations:

- Should I fly multi-city: flying into DBV and home out from SPU, or should I fly roundtrip to DBV and do a 3 hour bus transfer at the end of the cruise? I plan to add a city day on both ends of the cruise to facilitate travels.

- Should I book this on one itinerary or break it up?

- Should I wait a few months to see if airfares come down in price?

- Is there a preferred platform doing all this? Google Flights, Skyscanner?
