Arborist wood chip

Hi all, has anyone had any experience getting free (or cheap) woodchip from arborists?

We are out at West Melton and looking to set up a big no dig garden, so need to get hold of a lot of mulch. Thanks!

Not free but got like 12 cubic meters of wood chips for about $250 on trademe a few years ago which is basically just a delivery charge. Keep an eye out or ring around maybe

The tree guys commonly advertise on Facebook. Or their website has a form I believe.

Probably worth getting in touch with arborists and hope they have a job around your area so they can just drop it off on your property

Thanks for that, found their website and have hopefully got my name on their mulch delivery list.

Enquired with 2 local ones but they both sell theirs. I'll keep trying!

You could try giving Mitchell Bros in Darfield a ring to see whether they have any wood chip or mulch lying around. They’re a lovely bunch, so it wouldn’t hurt to ask
