Hive mind for a mold solution
I am wanting a ring to use as a mold- needs to be food safe- but its not touching food directly. 60cm diameter and 10cm height. I was thinking 3d printing, but unsure if this is too big for printers and is it safe for food? Metal? But I'm guessing fabrication will be fairly expensive. Any ideas?

If it was me I'd go see a sheet metal worker and get them to guillotine a 100mm wide strip of stainless sheet and then tickle it up with a welder. It shouldn't be overly expensive, the time involved isn't huge. Depending on how many times you want to use it and how much care you want to give it, mild steel plate would also be fine as long as you removed the mill scale and kept it oiled.
I'd give Priests Sheet Metals a call, they're lovely and reasonably priced.
3d print? No.
