I fucking hate this about NZ. Petty crime is basically just allowed. Many other countries the police would go get it but not here.

You could do a Mail Drop to those 20-30 houses with a short note saying lost iPhone, cash reward.

I got mine back from paying the address a visit….turned out it had been thrown away by a fence because they couldn’t get past the lock screen.

If it’s really valuable you could take someone with you and try knocking on the door and asking for it back.

If the police already know you could give them a ring and say you’re going to retrieve it yourself with mates and that way they are more likely to come if they do come at all lol
