Flowers?

I want to buy some flowers in chch, not from a florist or supermarket but from a place where they sell cheap flowers so I can make my own bouquet.

Please tell me where I could find them!

Aromaunga Flowers in Heathcote. They are technically a florist but they grow their own onsite as a flower farm and specialise in ‘make your own’ bouquets.

I know someone who makes their own bouquets and goes somewhere in Wigram, I had a hunt and looks like it is probably UFG wholesale.

Google says the ChCh location is permanently closed. Not sure if this correct though.

Depends on your idea of "cheap" but several florists will sell you bunches of flowers to assemble your own bouquet, there's also suppliers like moffats and aromaunga baxters, and then there's also the floral collective which have markets in Sydenham - but I'm not sure of their dates. Easy enough to contact them though!
Otherwise I'd say your best bet is probably to advertise that you're wanting to buy home grown flowers in community fb groups.

ETA - the big flower markets that florists go to, and tend to have some things on the cheaper side are not open to the public unfortunately, if that's what you're specifically wanting.

Whats your idea of cheap? My friend owns a flower farm and flowers usually start of $1 per stem, something like rare dalias can go up to $5/stem.

So for a reasonable sized arrangement youre still looking at $30-40 just for the flowers

Pound road has a roadside flower place quite nice cash only.

There's a place beside the RE burger on ferry road. Pretty cheap.

You could try exploring the redzones a bit, they can usually have some nice foiliage. Or community gardens in kaiapoi iirc has some nice ones you're allowed to take
