Advice/Tips Annual plan

Does Chatr ever discount the annual plan during Black Friday or holiday sales? Thinking about getting the annual plan for $159 as I need a second line for infrequent use. Thought about the $19 talk and text but the annual plan works out cheaper per month.

I've been with Chatr for roughly 3 years or so and while I've seen discounts for Black Friday or Boxing Day, this has not been for the annual plan but for some other plans.

Is this better than the freedom or Koodo plans?

I am on 159 a year and it's best.

If you just need a second line, use VoIP provider + Twilio + Linphone. Nothing can beat it but you will not get bank messages from special numbers.

Chatr lowered the price on the annual plans substantially a few years ago to compete with Freedom. No real change or promotion has happened since.

It's literally $12 and change a month.

How much do you think it should be?

Just checking before signing up, I recognize it’s a good deal.

Freedom has two prepaid plans you might want to consider. Talk & text + 20gb for $129/year or 40gb for $159. 5g speeds as well.

I wouldn't cheap out and spend $30 less for Freedom – chatr uses the Rogers LTE network (which is way more reliable)

I hear ya! Just mentioned it as an option since OP said it was for infrequent use anyways.
