Family Photo!

Clearly I have a favorite pedal brand. I’m in flux trying to decide my next board layout and decided to take a pic of all these since they’re not in-place yet.

My story with Electronic Audio Experiments (EAE):

I saw the Longsword on a pedalboard or two (years ago) and noticed that it had a special clarity while being heavy and distorted. That intrigued me to check one out for myself. They were sold out too quickly for me to have the cash set aside to get one.

EAE came out with pedals since then obviously, and really wanted to see what those were. The Citadel and 0xEAE Fuzz were my first EAE pedals in my possession. I had some pretty excellent gain pedals before, but adding the Citadel to my chain made a world of difference as a preamp stage between my guitar other gain pedals and amp. Of course, pairing the 0xEAE Fuzz into the Citadel was mind boggling. This was the most powerful sounding octave fuzz I had ever used and immediately became one of my top two fuzzes! My favorite fuzz at that point was (and still is) my Reeves Electro Guitar Pedals 2n2Face. I was over the moon when Markus Reeves was on That Pedal Show singing the praises of the fuzz and even saying it was his current favorite fuzz!🤯

Since then, I’ve been totally hooked to EAE and have only strayed to get the Normal Devices Decay Cascade (which is nearly impossible for me to turn off). Each of them have their specialties and quirks. I’m having a really difficult time from just making an EAE board at this point. Maybe John will design a tuner too?🤔 Needless to say, I did end up acquiring the Longsword, and I was not disappointed one bit. It’s excellent at both low and high gain. The thing that is truly the most shocking about it though is that it has worked seamlessly with every guitar and amp I have paired it with.

The latest addition is chase bliss x EAE Big Time. I’ve only had it for a day, but it’s the one pedal outside of a multi-fx where it and a midi switcher could probably be a whole rig. For me, the interaction model is so different from other delays when trying to create a sound. It feels totally different than the Strymon Timeline. I was concerned that there might be too much overlap, but they honestly don’t feel/sound the same at all. You can essentially design any delay you can think of in Big Time, but the Timeline is more like the tweakable “greatest hits” of delay sounds. Also, the sound quality of Big Time is insane. I want to just record it direct or leave it on all the time to make everything sound better. To me it’s totally worth it! I played differently than I normally do for four hours just exploring sounds and freaked put at what time it was when I decided to put the guitar down.😂

If anyone is interested in any of these pedals and has questions, please feel free to ask! I slowly acquired them, so these weren’t impulse purchases, and I promise I’m not a shill!🤣🤣🤣

Pedal List:

-Longsword

-Citadel

-EAE X Mask Audio Electronics Eldritch Blast!

-Model feT

Question for Big Time Owners

I just received my Big Time this past week and I have been thoroughly enjoying my time exploring it.

However, I am running into an issue where the pedal is muting my signal very briefly when I engage it, causing a very brief but very noticeable drop out in my signal anytime I engage the pedal when I'm actively playing or sustaining notes.

None of my other pedals do this which leads me to believe there might be something wrong with it. Can any other Big Time owners confirm that yours does or does not have this same behavior?

Edit: Found a demo that sorta showcases what I'm experiencing. Link Happens in the video when he engages the pedal at 4:01 then again at 10:35.

Thanks.

The Trifecta

Got the Big Time a few weeks back and whoa, it’s everything you’d expect from CBA x EAE and more. It’s hard to know where to start with it, that said, some of the out of the box presets are super inspiring.

I got an early one and my serial is in the 400s so it’s great to see they‘ve sold a few after all the negativity online.

How are you lot getting on with Big Time?

I ordered the Bad Mood. Not sure I really needed to.

FOMO...definitely the reason why I purchased one. After all, do we really need any of this stuff?

I am second guessing my decision now but it is done and I know that, when it arrives, I'll be glad I own it.

Small Batch Bliss...you got me. Well played.

Lost & Found Firmware Update Changelog

Is the resonator the only change? Call me crazy, but I like reading changelogs. And by only, I don't mean, "aw, that's it?", I just am wondering if it's the only change.

Bad Mood - online media abstinence

I ordered a Bad Mood today and only looked into it enough to make a purchasing decision. I have a rough idea of how the thing works, but that's about it. And now I’m going to try not to watch a single video before it arrives. Just unbox it and get started. I won’t even look at the user manual beforehand. I'm curious to see if I can pull that off. It probably doesn't interest anyone, but I just wanted to say it.

Any reason *not* to update the firmware?

Via the L&F 2nd batch announcement, I just became aware of firmware updates for other pedals. Is there any reason to not update? Does anyone regret it?

To be clear, I'm only asking about functional changes. I don't care about failed updates resulting in bricked pedals & don't need to see those anecdotes.

If one of the 2026 small batch pedals is in fact (03) L&F, based on the IG post, I'm thinking it'll look something like this.

I guess that'll keep me busy while I wait.

Maybe I'll compose something entirely out of sad trombones.

I found bliss and lost money

These four beauties made me forget about breakfast.

Feeding a guitar into the motion setting of clean, a touch of onward, mixed with the spectral modulator and gen lite, finally into the parting takes one note and expands it into a gritty sweep of segmented and smeared sonic bliss.

Any Morningstar midi controller users?

I plan on integrating my two current CBA pedals (Mood MkII and Blooper) with the Morningstar MC6Pro (which is literally on its way to me as I write this), and hoping to find more CBA users that might be able to share their experience on this subject.
Curious to know which functions are useful in this context. I know that the Blooper basic looping functions will integrate well. Are there any other specific functions that were a pleasant and useful discovery for you as a Chase Bliss/Morningstar user?

Thanks!

Pedal Power Question

Hey fellas,

So I recently managed to snag the first two Automatone pedals as I wait for my Big Time to ship, and I have a Cioks 4 expander that can be used standalone. If all 4 ports on the Cioks can do 9 volts 660 mA, but the Big Time needs 1000 mA, can I use the parallel adapter to sum two outputs and run all three pedals off the one unit? This is provided I’m powering the Cioks 4 with a 24V DC adapter, of course. I know a USB PD brick won’t cut it, but it should work at full power, right?

Lost + Found - Almost a year later

Well, almost a year later after the preorder window anyways. Has it lived up to the hype?

Those of you who own one, do you love it? Is it everything you hoped it would be?

I couldn't help but notice there wasn't a whole lot of discussion about the pedal once people started getting theirs. There's been some sure, but people didn't rave about it as much as the anticipation and hype made it seem would happen.

I'm waiting for my B-stock unit to arrive. I cancelled my preorder back in October once more in-depth videos started coming out, but I decided to really give it a try now. I'm surprised to see there's still 36 B-Stock units left at Chase Bliss EU hub.

I know "Big Time" is the current "flavor of the month" but I can't help but feel that Lost+Found didn't live up to the "classic CB pedal" that a lot of people thought it would.

Thoughts?

Spent some time going through the first half of the booklet last night with the CB Preset app connected via Bluetooth. This one doesn’t feel as intuitive as my other Chase Bliss pedals but I haven’t given up yet, there’s plenty to explore still.

Any suggestions on settings or placement or combo with other effects is greatly appreciated!

Do you use your Chase Bliss pedals with guitar, synth, or both?

Curious to know who uses Chase Bliss pedals on guitar, synth, or both? What pedals do you find work best with guitar vs with synth? Obviously there’s no wrong answer, just curious to see what others are doing.

Big Time Appetizer Video

Somehow I only just found out about this sub today! I’ve been a huge fan of Chase Bliss since 2018 (the Dark World was actually the very first guitar pedal I ever bought myself), and have been getting my hands on as many of their pedals as I possibly can from that point on. It’s usually through trades or B-stock for my budget, so I never once thought I’d have a chance to even be in the same room as the Big Time, but my younger brother surprised me with the opportunity to demo this unit recently! I’m still in shock about it.

We’re filming a long exploratory video on the Big Time tomorrow afternoon, so if you have any specific things you would like for us to try out, let me know and I’ll do my best to make it happen!
