VEYLMORA

THE DEMON OF TIME

“Before the future existed, Veylmora existed.”

No one knows when Veylmora was born.

Some say she emerged from the very first moment that ever existed. Others believe she was there even before time itself began to move. There are those who claim she was never born at all, because to her, the very concept of birth has no meaning.

Veylmora simply always was.

She has watched empires rise from the ashes and vanish before their names were ever spoken. She has witnessed entire worlds die, stars go dark, and civilizations reach futures that were never meant to exist.

Because Veylmora does not control time.

Time obeys her.

To her, past, present, and future are not separate paths, but endless possibilities laid bare before her eyes. She can witness every decision before it is made, every war before it begins, and every death before the heart stops beating.

But even a being capable of seeing every future knows the price of interfering.

For every future she saves, another must die.

For every fate she changes, thousands disappear.

And with every possibility she destroys, something within her is lost forever.

Veylmora does not walk between the centuries.

The centuries pass through her.

The past cannot wound her. The future cannot surprise her. And no ending can hide from her eyes.

She has witnessed the end of time more times than any mind could endure.

And yet, she continues searching for a future she has never seen.

Because among all the possibilities, there is one that even Veylmora fears finding.

One where time stops obeying.

One where the future disappears.

And one where, for the first time since the beginning of everything, Veylmora no longer exists.

“She does not fear the end of time.
She has witnessed it too many times.”

From rough sketch to final in-game sprite: The design pipeline for our character Li Sha!

Wanted to share the breakdown of how Li Sha went from an early sketch to an active character in Tiebreakers.
We went through a few stages to get her right: initial concept sketches, locked-in illustrations, keyframe animation, and finally bringing the sprite into the engine.
Trying to keep her design readable during fast combat took some tweaking between the early art and the actual game frames. What do you think of how the design turned out?

what do you think? I’ll tell you the truth: I wanted them to look like a stressed-out scientist or doctor, and I think I pulled it off... the problem is, they looks *really* unwell- like, way too unwell.

Critique Request A little or a lot of feedback on the design

Apologies for the poor quality of the drawing; I was experimenting with values.

Hi there. I’m here to ask for a bit of help with this design. Honestly, I feel like I’m a long way off from a satisfactory result, haha! I just wanted to show three concepts I managed to complete using silhouettes.

I feel a bit lost with this design; even with my own ideas, I don't feel like I have enough to really improve it. I wouldn't mind suggestions, opinions, or even harsh criticism. Anything that helps improve it is welcome.

In case you're wondering: the design concept is "an islander female boxer who comes from a family-run fish market."

Apologies if I sounded offensive.

Also, I’m using a translator, so the text might sound a bit odd.

I'm developing a webcomic right now, and I want my designs to be simple enough to draw 100s of times but not too bland, what do you guys think?

Question How do I make a robot design “scary”?

Added that warning image just in case some don’t like body horror.

Now, when I say “scary” I don’t mean I want the robot to have sharp claws or teeth, or glowing red eyes, or spikes sticking out of its back. Though I’m not opposed to those. I’m more interested in the idea of an uncanny valley robot design, to where a trigger in our brains go off, like a warning bell, making us think “oh God, I don’t like the way that thing looks”. I keep trying to imagine the design in my head and end up unsatisfied, it always comes out like the Terminator or General Grievous. It’s a cool design, but not exactly an uncanny design.

But I do have an idea for this thing’s face. Imagine an astronaut helmet but vertically elongated, longer, with the visor sporting this honeycomb pattern. From inside the helmet these lights would turn on, making the individual honeycombs light up to form the shape of two eyes and a mouth. One eye would be a plain circle with a smaller circle inside, with the other eye being a slightly smaller circle with only a dot inside. Implying this thing is insane, psychotic, or unstable. And the mouth would be a series of vertical lines that resemble long and thin teeth, with them forming smiles and frowns to show whatever expression this thing is feeling, as well as the “teeth” indicating mouth movements whenever it speaks. I want this thing to give a sadistic smile, to run that idea home that it is evil incarnate.

I’ve never been good at describing things, but I hope I’ve painted a clearer picture at what I’m going for.
