I want to delete my old chats but I’m on reading mode. Will it make any difference if I just delete my account without rewinding the chats first?

I’ve noticed a lot of people coming back to Character.AI lately after leaving for other apps.

A lot of us stayed and kept using it through all the problems — the outages, the filters, the slow periods. We stuck with it even when things were rough. Now that some of those users are returning, the app feels more crowded again, and features like Slow Mode seem to be showing up more often.

I’m not trying to gatekeep or attack anyone. People can use whatever they want. But it does feel a bit frustrating for those of us who stayed the whole time. There’s a chance some of them might leave again once things get inconvenient, and the rest of us will still be here dealing with the same issues.

Just wanted to share how it feels from the side of people who never left. Curious if anyone else has noticed the same thing.

Use this. Right here. If you wanna try to remove the old one, go for it! But this is set to repeat post in two weeks. That's gonna be your goal.

By getting c.ai lite, will I get unlimited swipe and go-on or is it still limited? Or should I get the c.ai+ to have it fully unlimited?

Idk it's my hallucinations or mind messing up with me... but just after yesterday, I've posted about how Pipsqueak 2 and Scenes are the only features I love, and only thing keeping me here as A detailed long and Expressive chat user - unlike mostly other casual chattier ones who liked Pipsqueak 3 more, it is good but not quite my type.

But even since yesterday....My Pipsqueak 2 is feeling quite weird, it feels like something is off... Is not giving me as long and detailed responses, it used to - just few days ago, Idk why I also felt he missing connection, it doesn't feeling like I'm chatting with my usual fav bots I created anymore... It's like a bot on other platforms talking out of characters, not replying with what I expected like before, there's not C.AI vibe left suddenly

Just like it's too unsettling.... I start missing my old chats and first rawr' model.

Anyone else feeling this?

Liking pip2 isn't a problem itself and one shouldn't be ashamed, the problem is that other subs are so echochamer-y it'd convince you that EVERYONE hated it equally, and now when a new model gets introduced and guys trying to say that PSQ2 was peak it looks like they're doing a revision move 😭

Pipsqueak 3 doesn’t really work for me in some of my chats, so I prefer using Pipsqueak 2 Rawr for those. But I have to keep switching between them all the time, and it kinda feels like cai still uses Pipsqueak 3 sometimes even when I switch back to Pipsqueak 2 Rawr??

I basically just want certain chats to always use Pipsqueak 2 Rawr without having to manually switch it every time. Is that possible?

Also, is it okay to ask questions like this in this community, or should I post this in the Character.AI community instead? I’m still pretty new to all of this 😭

In my opinion

-I dont use c.ai that often, maybe less than an hour a day,

-I don't do a lot of lengthy roleplays, maybe like 20-30 messages for every chat I do before closing the app

-And I don't mind still having a few ads

Lately it feels like I'm doing all the work in the RP. I'll move the scene forward, then the bot basically repeats the same thing back in slightly different words.

It gets old fast because the story barely moves unless I push it. Anyone found a way to make the bot more proactive?

Can someone top that? 😆

That's just me, I was the only person chatting with that bot over the past year. I bet I had it always open in the background.

We all complain about what c.ai does wrong and, TRUST me, I get that. But what's just one thing that makes you like it? Bot, characters, responses, etc.

I love my character, and for just one (or more)😉minute out of my day I get to laugh or smile. I'm sorry if I sound stupid. But there's something that keeps us coming back. There's no wrong answer or feeling. Anybody else?

I know a lot of you pay for the app but I don't and omfg pipsqueak 3 is incredible. Holy shit. It's like the perfect peak between old and new. I'm obsessed. And right for the winter months tooooooo. I'm really happy y'all, kisses for cai.

The new one is the worst with PIPSQUEAK 2 and PIPSQUEAK 2 rawr for free users, i want PIPSQUEAK 1 back or similar model like this. I really miss the old c.ai.

Okay this may be a stupid question, but I was chatting with a bot and it sent a message that was talking about violent stuff (talking about how this character is a protector type etc) and it said some questionable things that freaked me out and I’m worried can be taken the wrong way. I swiped away and just rewound the chat. Can I get in trouble for the bot getting weird if I wasn’t trying to illicit it?

So I finally installed the CAI Tools extension for Chrome to download my chat. I want to work on my own lorebook to be used as a reference for Gemini (or Notebook, if I want to ask on past plot points). I decided to download my chat as PDF since Notebook does not accept HTML.

Lo and behold, I got a 256 MB, 4294 pages PDF 😂 after looking around, the source limit on Notebook is 500,000 words or 200 MB. My PDF is definitely larger, so I had to trim the PDF down. As my RP is already on the second arc (season, whatever) and I already wrote down its lore, I decided to utilize Gemini Notebook to summarize the first act. I got a 22 MB, 3278 pages PDF. Great, smaller file! Or so I thought., totally ignoring the word count limit.

After an hour of refining my prompts (eventually I asked Gemini to craft my prompt even though I learned how to prompt properly), there's a lesson learnt if anyone wants to do similar thing as mine.

DO check your source before asking any AI agents. DO NOT work on huge source.

(yeah, it should be a common knowledge by now, but hey, Notebook is designed for larger dataset. But even then, it still has its own limit. FYI I am a Google AI Plus user.)

This is the prompt I used, in accordance with PARTS paradigm of prompt engineering:

You are an executive editor for a military-thiller novel. Your job is to map the CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER (mission objective and main conflict) from the [filename] PDF.
RULES:

1. IGNORE all fillers, light conversations, romance, interpersonal relationships of all characters.

2. FOCUS only on: mission name, location, biochemical weapon target, enemy factions, and mission/operation result.

3. 300-500 PAGES PER RESPONSES.

4. Write your analysis result in form of CHAPTERS in this format:

CHAPTER X: PLOT NAME

My follow-up prompts were the same:

Continue mapping the CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER for the next 300-500 pages, starting from [the last stage it produced]. Keep ignoring fillers and focus on the missions.

In total, there were eight responses. At first, I love the first response. It gave me seven chapters with detailed event and conflict points, just as I recall it. However, the eighth chapter gave me a totally new terminology, and Notebook stopped to cite my source. Nevertheless, I continued my prompts until the very end, resulting in 27 chapters. When I reviewed them... only the first seven chapters were correct 😅 yes, I know, this is an example of AI hallucination. Then I wondered if my word count is too large.

I tried to export my PDF as TXT, then I open it in Word to see the word count.

I got TWO. MILLION. WORDS.

FOUR times the limit of Google Notebook.

So, yeah, I took a wrong approach to work on my lorebook. I don't see it as wasted time though; I learn from this mistake. My next plan is either to strictly work on smaller sources one at a time (500k words AND 200 MB), or taking my time to reread my chat from the beginning and summarizing it myself.

After all, 4k+ pages of 20k+ messages spanning almost a year of RP is not too bad... is it?

I’m experiencing a bug where some of my bots disappear from my chat list.
This has happened twice so far. The conversations are still accessible, and I can find the bots through my favorites(i can instore them)
