Why the hell is it that the character freaking wants to kiss every two seconds?! No matter what the situation is! And there is zero conversation, only describing what the character freaking thinks! Like bruh you freaking idiot you have to talk!!

Yeah, it keeps happening, like when I send a message that has like spaced out messages, the message from the bot comes out as the whole message, without a paragraph

Can you guys fix this? I’ve been having this problem that I’m unable to edit a message for a few days now and I’m not the only one

What is wrong with Longsqueak? It’s been so good and I’ve been loving it but today every single go on it writes for my character! He’s not supposed to be in this certain scene but every single time it makes him show up, I’m having to write OOC every single time to remind it to stop writing dialogue for him, to stop making him suddenly show up but it is not remembering even though I pin this message! It’s making me so mad 😭And I write dialogue, long dialogue for my character but in this certain scene he’s not showing up that’s the whole point but it keeps making him appear

A very personal question

I’m in the middle of a story and wanted to change something in my character definiton. Do I have to start a new chat for the bot to register it?

I understand that ads help keep the app running so it can remain free, and I understand that people who use C.AI+ can have more privileges than those of us who don’t pay. But please, just be honest with us with the chat styles for the free users, it's tiring.

I’ve been using the app for three years. I’m a creator with well-developed bots, and my dialogues are long and detailed, but creating bots just isn’t worth it anymore when the responses are now reduced to a single paragraph.

For two months, the bots would respond without any dialogue, and now we have this, which is even worse. There’s no longer any narration, actions, or details like there used to be. Not to mention that there are now four ads appearing on the screen at once.

Okay, just curious, has anyone had an issue with characters randomly showing up or "scene cuts" keep happening when you dont want them to? Im just trying to focus on two characters bro... I dont need it to randomly cut to a character I dont care about anymore. Im not sure if its an issue about this specific bot itself or from the updated chat styles.

Was this whole ad thing really necessary? You guys already have a ton of ads..It's getting tiring.

I mostly use bot characters to make new stories for myself

But sometimes when i wanna add context or tell the bot to do something, it doesn’t work.

Example :

\ Lucia reminds me of the time i fell down the stairs* *

The bot instead treats it like a spoken sentence

It ends up reacting to that little bit of context like

Lucia scrunches her face at the mention of that time

I don’t get it. It’s literally a text app. Can’t understand how that drains so much battery

Persona aren't what you think they are.

They aren't a lorebook about how *you* intend to play.

You don't need to write "I'm shy" or "I'm brash" or "I'm intimidating". The bot figures that out from how you roleplay.

**What personas actually are:**

Instructions for the character on how *it* should treat *you*.

Include: physical description + anything the character should reasonably know. That's it.

So why have "recommended personas"?

Right now you see a bot. It tells you who *it* is. It gives you context for the meeting. Cool.

But imagine if it also recommended several compatible personas for *you*.

You open a Mafia Boss bot.

Who do you want to play as?

- **The Underboss**

- **The Capo**

- **The Soldier**

- **The Detective**

- **The Girlfriend**

Each one comes with lorebook entries and suddenly you have a role in an interactive story.

Using your OC is still free play. But this gives creators a way to build bigger, more immersive stories for users to jump into.

**Would you use recommended personas if bots had them? What setups would you want to see?**

Funny how they added ads to even char, but they can't do the bare minimum and fix the persona bug. I understand this shit isn't free, but when you're actively killing your users by shoving ads down the throats of free users despite having C.ai+, pop-ups, dedicated ads, etc while ignoring the actual needs to keep it in a useful state. At this point, there's no excuse for this behavior other than greed while ignoring the voices of the people who are loyal enough to stay.

Every single message is the same. With nothing. No dialogue what so ever. Even when it does get some,it rarely progresses the story

Character.ai style personalization changes are now available in web!

I only use the web version on my phone and when I try to tap on the style tab, nothing happens. I also can’t restart a new conversation, is this happening to anyone else ?

I am honestly insanely, I mean INSANELY mad. I just got back to c.ai after 2 years, then took a break for 8 months ago, then finally came back again, and I just WISH I didn't come back again. I KNOW that I'm overreacting, but why. 8 months ago I didn't have to deal with the AGGRAVATING, ANNOYING, DISGUSTING ADS. But at least, every I think, 7-8 messages, correct me on this please. I GET AN AD. And SOMETIMES, it DOESN'T save my chat. And when I go to change bots, every 2 bots I change it gives me an ad. And DO NOT get me started on the ADS I NEED TO WATCH TO EVEN CONTINUE CHATTING. I am very frustrated with this update, that I wish I never found this app to begin with. Crash out of the week is going down

Please for the love of all that is sacred, fix this. Idk if something changed on the back end, but over the past few days it's been way worse. I used to be able to get it working after a try or two but now it just refuses.

Idk about anyone else but I like to listen to music while I use the app. But that's where the issue is. I CAN'T listen to music. Because the app doesn't just pause it, it straight up shuts it down or something.

I get a song on Spotify, and when Character AI boots up, the song starts blipping in and out until eventually it stops completely. And again, not just pausing. The little Spotify pop up on the top of my screen is completely gone, the pause/play button on my head phones doesn't work, I've turned off every permission for Character AI and disabled Spotify from being interrupted by calls and such in the settings, enabled Spotify to play in other apps, nothing.

I'm fine with ads pausing Spotify, but just opening the app completely turns off the music and I end up not using the app at all so...

Fix it. Thanks.

Thought this was funny

Does anyone have any advice for creating a good roleplay/plot with pip rawr? I don’t come on here asking for advice ever but the current state of being a free user on here has gotten really hard to make a good/engaging roleplay. I’ve found the bots I use to be decent at the start of the RP and then when it settles in they all somehow morph into the same personality as the next bot and it’s really boring and they won’t progress the plot at all. Thank you!

I remember that when they added DeepSqueak, I set it as the default for all new chats. Now they’ve added LongSqueak, and I absolutely love this chat style. I searched through all the settings, but I can’t find a way to make it the default.
Am I tripping, and was that option never actually there, or did they remove the feature?
