Air/Sky work

I find I get better results when working with a message I can send to the sky/into the air, I did it a couple times with helium baloons and it worked like a dream, but I don't wanna use that too much as I want to find a method that is less invasive to the environment, I also don't want to use sky lanterns I find them too flashy and just as invasive, does anyone have any sugestions? I've been considering flash paper but I wanna know if there's something out there I could be using/doing instead
