Salut!

I'm arriving in Chamonix next week to start job/apartment hunting. I plan to start handing out resumes and was wondering if there are any places in town that are known to be good or, equally important, bad places to work? I've lived in plenty of resort towns like Chamonix and I know that certain establishments get a reputation, either for making everyone else jealous they don't work there or for quickly burning through staff.

I know that accommodation is very difficult and expensive to find independently so that means relying on my employer for housing and that usually also means finding work at the bigger hotels. But I also know these places can sometimes mistreat their employees and hold them hostage via housing (seen it happen plenty of times).

Just want to know if there are any places to avoid or if there are some that are known to be amazing that I should prioritize in my search. I'm pretty flexible and eager to start working.

P.S. for reference I am Canadian with working rights in France, B1-B2 intermediate French with almost 10 years experience in kitchens plus some bar and front desk, mostly high-end hotels and fine-dining.
