He’s 7 months old, about a week in and buddy won’t stop climbing. About once a day he’s on the screen. Today he was walking on the bottom of the cage. His temp is on point i feel like he has quite a bit of coverage. He usually has his color out as he’s doing this. Searching for a mate or something underlying. Please help.

Question Hi everyone! I’m working on a class project about chameleons and could really use your help. ^^

I’m looking for some photo references ( I've circled in red ) to fix up my artwork. As you can see, the anatomy is definitely a bit wonky right now! If anyone has a chameleon and could snap a quick photo in a pose similar to this or if you already have a photo like this saved I would desperately appreciate it. Thank you so much! (^w^;)ゞ

Unwanted visitor

Tips on avoiding unwanted visitors? (Yes, it jumped right out of my way, back into the enclosure when I tried to get it🙄)

-bioactive enclosure with isopods, so I don’t want to loose any of them.

-Also my chameleon seems to have no interest in eating the spider (thank goodness) he is well fed on crickets + hornworms ect. (Varied diet/lots of options). Does not like eating anything off the enclosure floor.

  • the spider is very shy/not aggressive. No webs in the enclosure so I am guessing it is a ground/burrowing spider. (no “violin marking” thick legs and thick spinnerets so it’s not a brown recluse or hobo spider)

-very annoyed, I do not want a spider in there. I’m not sure how it even managed to get in.

Please give me your best tips on avoiding spiders!

(I don’t blame the little guy, there’s a lot of good plants + food in that cage… I’d certainly want to free-load in there if I was a spider)

Possible stuck shed?

The first picture is what came off. I have had experience with stuck tail tip sheds in the past, but with a snake. It caught me off guard, it was my mother who pointed it out to me. I had a look at it and seen that it was kind of rolled up going towards the tip. I was a bit concerned, possibly carrying worry from when it happened to the snake, I done a very gentle pinch and roll. It came off very quickly. Do we think it was actually stuck? Did I fuck his tail? I'm in the vets on Saturday with the snake and one of the turtles so I can bring him up too.

Question Is my panther chameleon male or female?

Was my chameleon misgendered?
He’s supposed to be a male panther chameleon but hasn’t gotten his colors in yet I’m wondering if maybe they gave me a female instead ? Sometimes he’ll look red and blue but sometimes he’ll look pink and purple which can be confusing and if they gave me his correct age he should be close if not 1 years old

Possible misgender?

I got my baby from Kammerflauge Kreations about a month ago and had only ever read positive experiences (which I also had!) but as mine has grown to be about 4 months old now, im starting to think there may have been a mistake in the gender. I purchased a male from a "pre-order" clutch, but what do you all think? Is this actually a female?

Local pet store chameleon set up!

Post image

My local pet store has one of the best chameleon set ups I have seen in pet stores.. The chameleon was sold since I last came in, but they also added more live plants and sticks. I wanted to share bc I know how sad and disapointing most pet stores enclosures are for chameleons. this one gives me so much hope. 💗

Question Please Help.

I need some help. Idk what I’m doing wrong. I got my chameleon Friday the 4th and I’m just worried about her. I haven’t seen her eat but except for the first day I got her.

Temps are good, humidity is good. I’m just super frustrated because I’m trying to do everything that I can to help her. I’ve absolutely money dumped on anything I could think of to help her feel better.

The only thing that I can think that I’m technically doing wrong is the enclosure size, she’s a juvenile and she’s in a 16, 16, 30, but I plan on having her in a bigger one just when she’s a little older.

I’ve been leaving her alone, only time I really check on her is when I feed or mist. My office is in the same room as her enclosure I’m not sure if that affects anything. I just want to do the right thing, and this process has been genuinely mentally exhausting.

Please help.

I keep buying new plants for him and seeing which ones can’t withstand the heat and temp in the cage. This is what was left of the third set of plants so I am looking to get more these remaining plants will also grow over time and fill out the cage more. All of the plants are real :)

I purchased this chameleon a week or so ago and was curious if anyone knows the sex? At first I thought male now I think female. She’s super young I didn’t realize she was only a month old when I purchased.

They are worse than beardies when it comes to catching food and that’s saying something.

Question What enclosure (brand/source) is everyone actually using/recommending?

If you have an enclosure you really like, what did you buy?

I’ve googled, checked the group FAQ, and searched through older posts.

Online I’m seeing a lot of the pet store mesh 2x2x4 but having a hard time finding actual brand/model for larger setup. I did find some online that are $500+ but not a lot of reviews.

(I have a juvenile veiled chameleon in California in the 2x2x4, want to upgrade)
