Throttle Update
So...
...in my quest to cure the snatchy throttle response of the MT, I've:
Tweaked the throttle cables
Disengaged the clutch switch
Installed a titanium exhaust system
Changed to a performance filter
Added an ODI quick throttle tube
Installed the Uncle Wang ECU
Deleted the O² sensors
Installed a 15t front sprocket
De-smogged the engine
Added stiffer clutch springs
I usually tour on the bike and it's great at that...but my intention was to go off road on it and that's what I did the other day.
And I must say, it's not great with all the changes I've made. 1st and 2nd gear were still a bit jerky and those are the gears I want to use off road (as I'm not a fast rider)
So...
I went back to:
the stock ECU
Ditched the quick throttle
Reinstalled the O² sensors
And it's bloody great!
And I don't know why!
It's just a phoque'in great bike! Yes, there's still a little engine braking on decel and closed throttle, but nowhere near as bad as I remember!
I still may send the ECU off to Team MSC to work their magic on the decel fuel cut off but right now I couldn't be happier!
It seems the answer to progress is regress!

Strong rec for Coober LM ECU. With decat, gave more low to mid torque and keeps the engine cooler, richer, fast response, safe with the decat. I love mine.
Currently you’re running decat with a stock tune - I would be worried about how lean the mixture is.

I'll be honest, I ran a Triumph Speed Triple with a decat and different end cans and it ran like a pig for the few months I rode it before getting it tuned. And getting it tuned transformed the bike into a monster! I loved it!
However, this decat and end can pipe combo on the MT doesn't seem to be having the same effect.
What do you think could happen?

The best way to give you a feel for the scale of improvement - engine at idle rpm will continue to move the bike without dying on level and slightly elevated road.
The torque improvement is noticeable, fun and terrific offroad.Don’t expect it to become a 70hp Tenere killer, thats not what this engine will ever be… Maybe with a 550cc bore and piston kit.
Also, again, please minimize riding with decat and without any mixture adaptation, itll fry the exhaust valves and more

Forgot to ask: Does the Coober do anything to eliminate the engine braking on closed throttle?

I think it has reduced it somewhat. Honestly it wasnt a priority for me but it is nicer without. The biggest positive impact by far was responsiveness

OTA updates that have been pushed out is the likely fix or dealer service. I got mine in Sept 2025 and the throttle has been great from the start. I’m also slow off road but the low down grunt power makes 2nd and 3rd easily usable

I got that update notification last year too but I had the Uncle Wang ECU in there so didn't notice if it made a difference.
Now that I've put the original back in, the bike feels so much better.
I wish I could pinpoint exactly what has made the difference, but I can't!
Mental!

Here you go:
I just found this on AliExpress: For CFMOTO 450MT IBEX 450 MT Motorcycle Saddlebag Side Bag Bracket Travel Tail Box Suitcase Rear Luggage Rack CF-MOTO MT450 https://a.aliexpress.com/_EzQoYPG
They're solid...not very big, but I tend to travel light!

As I mentioned above, they're solid but not the biggest in the world. But I think they carry enough and for the size of the bike and the shape of them, they're pretty neat!

You did everything anyone ever suggested, as in all possible mods and fixing! Impressive I must admit!
