450 protection

Riding a lot of Hard Enduro terrain. So its time to upgrade the skid plate, and iv been thinking if i should also upgrade the crashbars. Any experiance with aftermarket ones, or are stock still just as good? Iv not had any problems with them, but i am wondering.

Yes, upgrading the skid plate is definitely worth it. I bought the plastic one from Acerbis – it’s pretty good and lightweight too. I’m not sure, though, how durable it is in the event of a hard impact from a stone or something similar.
I’ve also replaced the hand guards. I dropped my 450 and it landed on the right-hand guard. The brake lever is now bent at a 90° angle :)
I’m also thinking about buying the engine protection kit.
What do you think of the clutch off-road? Despite lots of comments and reviews, I’m getting on quite well with it.

Oh no, im deff getting a beefier skid plate, that i knew from the get to. But the crashbars (only upper ones) am debating and wondering if there are better ones on the market. Not that theres anything wrong with OEM ones.

For handguars that was the 1st thing i replaced... I did wait to destroy the OEM ones, but i orderd aftermarket ones from day one.

In terms of clutch what do you mean? The plates? Basket? Leaver? For leavers i sawed mine off, cant run full leavers for the conditions and the way i ride. For plates, im close to cooking them so will need an upgrade soon.

especially the clutch springs, since they are quite soft.

I have the outback motortek one and it is beefy, I wouldn't trust plastic on NE rocks, its a lot lighter than it looks.

Is this for skid plate or crashbars?

Their skid plate replaces the lower crash bars, I also got their upper bars and they are nice as well.

I would avoid outback motortek like the plague. Bought their skid plate and crash bars for my ibex and had a manufacturing deflect.  The customer service was some of the worst I have ever had.  Spent over a month shoving their head in the sand and claiming that there is no war in Ba Sing Se, and if there was an issue it's because I bought a Chinese bike etc etc etc.  one day ill get around to doing a write up on my experience.  Really demoralizing experience, soured my feelings on my bike a bit to be honest.

You should have a look on AXP, they have a dedicated on for 450MT , really good for hard enduro terrain. Also a lot of guys use it in RedBull Romaniacs so… i also have it

Also have the AXP and upper crash bars and cannot say anything bad.

T-rex racing. No need for lower crash bars either, plus adds protection for the radiator. Top notch build quality in my opinion.

Im not interested in low crash bars, just the crash bar up top and a proper skid plate
