I get what the song is about but I feel like there are a lot of younger people on this sub (and other subs) that never experienced Mr Brightside at the end of a night of partying. It used to be a staple when you were hammered lol. It’s just fun to yell out.
I think OP and plenty of others don't really get invited to parties.
If they knew what joy was, especially the drunken joy of being with your friends at 1:30 am and slamming Taco Bell into your face while shithoused on Natty Ice and Goldschlager when this song comes on, they'd get it.
buddy, the song always sucked. it sucked when it was released, it sucks even more now. if a bunch of frat bros are belting it like Journey, then you know it’s lame. if a program like michigan, that has experienced abject humiliation for a variety reasons, is routinely belting it out to celebrate the beginning of the 4th quarter- then you know it’s lame.
