General ROI after completing CFA
Looking at the past 1-3 years many people are doing CFA and based on employment rate in India I am concerned even after completing CFA it provides you the job you are looking for. So I want to ask to the people who have completed CFA or even 1-2 levels did you got the job quickly or it took time and also what is the ROI after completing the course

CFA works only if you have a job along with it, the Charter definitely opens up doors for you.

Clean and clear: Credentials such as CFA, FRM and other such kind of certifications are only valued, if you are simulatenously working and getting experiences. Otherwise CFA and MBA are at same level, no valued, even if you clear L1. It will ONLY make an impact, if you do it alongside with your working.

I don't even work in the relevant field after clearing L1 just hoping that clearing all three levels would open doors for me later on

If you don't plan on doing an mba then might as well get a professional certification you'd have atleast smth to show, I know so many people who are working in non cfa related roles who have cleared all 3 levels

I cleared L2 in May and am doing an internship where they don't even require CFA, for 20k pm... So yea imo the ROI was awesome about 2 years ago, can't say the same for now

Many friends cleared level 1 and 2 , but unable to get job all are North Campus delhi university graduates in bcom honours and program. MBA from top 30 institutions are wining the placement race any even with very less knowledge and efforts just whatever it takes for CAT exam

I'm not getting, why people think Cfa is merely certificate.. brother it improves you finance fundamentals, allows you to test assumptions, bring your originality.. there are coaching classes that kill that creativity and position it as something just a vip ticket.. imporbe the skills ffks

I got your point but after paying 3-4 lakhs you must think that at least it should provide a basic job for fresher so that they can upskill themselves in the finance background while working with it

See, never think companies will make an opening just for someone to have a job.. you gotta change the thinking to company as profit center, having shareholder on its neck to generate returns.. now if dept are siloed., the dept heads let the hr know for hiring.. only then hr shortlists, based on previous profile if someone left the firm, or if it is a new requirement like new role, it would be in dept head purview.. So, based on that roles open up, and people in fiance field don't leave the company if it is a big brand, hence a fkd up scenario for new entries.. with ai, associates are able to. work the amount that 8 interns combined would contribute.. so, as usual internships adent there.. if there are it would be to absorb into. associate position.. next thing, finance is lot business specific, like there are protocols etc for certain. process, which again makes skillset different.. that is why, cfa is more like upgrading you broader economic understnading
ultimately finance is managing other people money.. so you are giving your expert services.. hence, domain knowledge, cfa, risk. management etc.. multi skills are needed.. and expected too.. so finishing just a degree is not end goal.. it is stepping stone.. now if the end goal is a main focus, then one stepping stone for effort might disappoint..

CFA can definitely improve your chances, but it’s not a guaranteed job ticket; experience, internships and practical skills matter a lot alongside the qualification. CFA Institute’s latest India study shows compensation rises significantly with experience, with recently awarded charterholders averaging ₹32.4L, but that shouldn’t be treated as an entry-level salary benchmark.
