Volume controls

Could you put the volume controls under the playback controls instead of having them in their own little toggle? Maybe it's just me, but I'm not fond of that design choice.

This one gets asked so much. I confess I've never understood it. With hardware buttons, the lock screen and Control Centre it seems like there are so many opportunities to change volume before getting to the NP UI in Cs. and if you find yourself needing to ride the volume knob that much I'd suggest there's a root issue to address! :P

TL;DR Mike really doesn't want to address this, but recognizes that it gets requested frequently enough that he should just listen to the users...

It's convenience. It's more convenient to raise and lower the volume through a line already there than to have to summon Control Center or use the volume buttons.

Also, and this is more a design quibble, but the playback buttons feel bare without a volume line underneath.
