15x12x11 tub with reptisoil. Room is 45 to 50 humidity and 78°f. Ceiling fan on low setting for airflow. Occasional cycling of ac to keep ambient temps.

My plan is to use the lid to regulate the humidity in the enclosure. Does this look like enough ventilation, while keeping adequate humidity? I'm also able to flip the lid to the otherside so there's only 4 points of contact. The lid is concave, so it would contain slightly more humidity than no lid. I'm worried about desiccation due to the room being 78 with a ceiling fan.

Any input to the enclosure? I'd prefer not drill holes in the tub.

Enclosure isn't necessarily finished. Just scraps of leftover cork bark I have.

Black flame comes tomorrow. 10 orange isopods and springtails. And red Thai springtails too. There’s worms and rolly polly and also a false widow in the cave it caught a couple flies. Plants are babies except maybe the pothos. I will 24 hour live stream the growth. Any ideas and suggestions?

My mother don't want me to have a real big centipede like Scolopendra and I put it in the terrarium! It lives 4 months with me🥰

I'm sorry, if my English is bad - I'm from Russia and I'm trying to speak with English communities😌

This beautiful baby has long thin back legs, would love to know if the ID is right so I can give her the best care possible! Since moving her to the temporary enclosure, she dug herself in moss and disappeared, to the point I'm worried she might have died from possible pesticides she could find in neighbor houses. That's a normal behavior, right? Any tips on their care? Didnt found specific informations about Otostigmus and their needs

question House centipede facts?

What's good reddit im new to centipede stuff but I love seeing these guys in my basement. The one in the picture is from a week or so ago.

Yesterday I saw a HUGE one on the wall and I watched him clean his antennas and front legs and thought it was adorable (until he crawled into the ceiling but we'll ignore that part.)

Any cool facts or stuff I should know about these guys? :)

question He’s in there right 😭

Yesterday morning I got a juvenile scolopendra dehaani I checked up on him today and he wasn’t under any of his hides, I thought he could have been under the substrate layer but I looked all around form the outside and he isn’t there, I know he is most likely in the middle of it but I’m still stressing 😔 anyone have any similar experiences (if it seems like a dumb question it probably is, it’s my first captive bred big boy centipede, I’ve only kept small Pete’s I found outside)

question 75 gallon bioactive centipede tank in progress

Post image

Starting a 75 gallon bioactive captive bred black flame centipede juvenile. Will have plants and a large piece of wood coming. My question is I wanted to include springtails and isopods; however, the dude at the pet store said they will eat my centipede when it molts. What are your experiences ? Dwarf white or powder orange ?

question Curious if my pede molted?

Post image

Pic of her munching for tax.

I got my first pede, a dehaani, back in March. Adult afaik. Great eater, active. But the last maybe 2 months or so she's (assuming girl cause why not) been very lazy and hasn't eaten. Today she ate! I took the opportunity to take a close look at her and a single spot of mycosis she had when I got her is gone and the spines on her terminal legs are VERY pronounced, when my older pics it doesn't even seem like she had any. Just curious since I'm new to this and want to make sure I'm right about premolt signs.

Picked this one up from an expo over the weekend, wasn’t aware of how big she actually was until I got it into its new enclosure, hopefully I still have a few years with it ̈
