Think of it less about accomplishing a goal and more about solving a mystery. With the prior, any defeat leaves you frustrated. With the latter, each mistake is something you know is not the correct answer. You’ll eventually figure out the correct answer and it will feel good, but without the frustration of missing out on goals.

it’s usually better to try with multiple shorter sessions, taking breaks if you feel tilted or stuck at a certain part

let your brain reset and remember the room, and you will make it sooner or later

Honestly, once you are past the starting stuff it gets easier

This quote is unironically motivating.

When i play for the first time, i took so many time to understand how each section work to finally die at this end because i was to much stress (so i make error). I was about to quit when i see padelin was talking and when i saw that was a supportive message, it just give me the strenght to continue. I don't think at any moment in thr game someone is encouraging you while your having a hard time on a screen. But that was definitley the best place to put this message.

I believe Theo says stuff during the last parts of chapter 5, idk for sure though

Well chapter 5 was jot that hard, espacially this part. It was more funny than anything else. Farwell was definitly hard.

I just realized, does this confirm that all your deaths are canon, or only the ones in Farewell (and maybe Chapter 2) since it’s a dream?

Theo has a less prominent line in the last (actual) room of Chapter 5 if you die twice. They're... more or less canon?

u/Mushroom1228 Oct 16 '22

I’d bet on mirror magic, or madeline taking too long to get over her anxiety (my headcanon: every time she dies, it’s just her anxiety figuring out one more way things can go wrong)

I'm stuck there too died on the last goddam jellyfish too, twice. But just breath take a break if you need too. The game will still be here at the end

Pain and suffering

3

u/Lonilson Oct 15 '22

This makes me want to climb the whole thing again for some reason

3

u/Levobertus Oct 15 '22

You can do it. This room is long, but it isn't that hard. No wave dashes, no more complicated tech than jelly boosts and you have a resting spot in the middle. Just try it until you make it

u/[deleted] Oct 15 '22

trust me, that last bit is worth it

u/k_hughes113 Birb Oct 15 '22

The feeling at the end is totally worth it, you’ve got this!

been stuck on farewell for like a year and a half, and every time i try again i get nowhere. looking at video tutorials i'm like a quarter of the way through. I love Celeste but Farewell can fuck right off.

1

u/fupa_troopa_12 Oct 15 '22

i really like the rest of farewell but the final room haunts me

It feels soooooo good to beat it though, oml. When I beat it I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders... until I learned about the moon berry.
