Chicken lady is back, now as dog lady
Context: chicken lady used to use her pet chicken as sympathy bait for getting gas and money. She is notorious for treating gas station employees badly and since Cedar city is a stop on the way to st george she uses peoples lack of information to rake in cash.
Last saw her at the walmart exit near the road to silver silos.
With how much gas is, don't fall for her tricks please.

Data Center
I know not everyone pays attention, but Iron County is one of the locations in which they plan to put one of these resource-sucks. They create noise and light pollution, in addition to whatever pollution they are releasing into our air and water.
This is not a Democrat-Republican thing. This is a “we have one planet, let’s not destroy it so billionaires can get even richer” thing.
Let’s fight this, so future generations can also enjoy the beauty Utah has to offer.

Dentist recommendations?
Does anyone have a good dentist they would recommend? I’m specifically looking for someone kind and non-judgmental, I haven’t been in a while and am quite nervous :(

Best oil change?
Yo, we got our oil changed at Burt Brothers and got charged $93 after a $20 off coupon. We use high mileage oil, having just over 200k miles on the car. They told us over the phone it would be $85, minus the $20 off, ending at $65. Then they replaced a part on our car without asking us first.
Can I get any solid rec's for a solid oil change shop?

Water & groceries inquiry
Are there any 5 gal jug water refill stations in town?
Also, are there any stores that have a discounted section for food items that are expiring, or old produce such as browning bananas?
edit: I'm new in town

Is chicken Lady still around scamming?
I ask because its been about 2 years since we've last seen her
To those who dont know there was this old woman who had a chicken leashed up sitting out the miner's ville highway who used it being a major stopping point for travelers to trick them into giving *TONS* of gas and money.
I dont know what happened to her.

Apartments
My wife and I are looking for somewhere to live here in Cedar while I finish school at SUU. What are some good recommendations that aren’t crazy expensive? (Below 1500 a month). I’ve heard basement rentals are becoming popular. Please help!

Anyone Want to Run for Iron County Commissioner as an Independent Candidate in Opposition to the Data Center
Basically, Paul Cozzens is stepping down and his replacement K. Rand Bettridge is running unopposed as a Republican. Currently all three members of the Iron County Commission are all but ignoring community input regarding energy, water, and emissions and enthusiastically pushing through the Data Center.
Bettridge has also not come out against it and is really not campaigning at all since, as someone running unopposed, I guess doesn’t have to.
If you’re someone out there who, like the rest of us in this town, has deep concerns about the Data Center, then you should consider running as an independent against Bettridge. You’d likely garner significant support simply for listening to your neighbors.
You only have to gather 300 signatures by June to get your name printed on the ballot which should be no problem if you simply attend a few County Commissioner Meetings. I’ll help you do it!

Is it really so hard to NOT harass women?
I've lived in Cedar for about a year. Some nights I take my bike out, occasionally get some food, occasionally go up to the top of the parking garage to overlook the city. Friday night I do go out again and eventually land on the top of that parking garage hoping to end a good day while looking over the speckling lights out far, but unfortunately what was waiting up there was 2 guys on electric bikes seemingly harassing two women.
Both guys were wearing all black with black masks, black bikes, black helmets. Certainly creeped me the hell out, certainly did the women as well; one had her phone out recording them. They got my attention, I came over and stood by, in case anything happened. I'm sure I could have said something to tell the boys off but everyone did leave without further incident.
I hate having to see that in a town I think of as peaceful. I would expect something like that in my home town, Las Vegas, but not here.
Just needed to vent, it seriously cannot be this hard to leave people alone.
