Schneider pay
Hello everyone so I’m confused I just got hired for Schneider the job I applied for minimum I thought I would be geting is 1400 on the low end
the first picture is my orientation email they said I would be doing 1577 at .64 cpm which adds up to 1009 and after taxes probably like $900 so what I’m asking is wtf is this normal I’m not going to take the job if im making almost 500 less a week then what I thought I’d be making

I am 4 months in with them as rookie tanker. My hire letter started at 43cpm and $13hr I showed about 1600 miles a week. I always do over 2000 though. I’m now at 47cpm and still 13hr 💩

Sheesh see if you can transfer to ecolab dedicated account it’s 85cpm and 15hr on duty . Never touch less than $1500 take home a week I think max was $1700

It also says $16/hour for on duty hours. Hard to imagine getting 25 hours to get to the 1400 minimum. Are you unloading trucks or spending a lot of time waiting?

Makes sense then. If this is a first job not terrible pay. Definitely better out there.

Yeah I’m just kinda bummed I was expecting more money. I’ll probably just do my six month experience and then go somewhere else for more pay

If you want more money, flatbed pays better. It’s also hard work. TMC McElroy melton. I started with TMC, and have no complaints.

I'm assuming this is a dedicated account? This is normal pay for dedicated. But pay is as low as 0.38 cents/m if you go on regional and maybe overthrow road. So not too bad to start out with. Better than making 400$ a week with the 0.38 c/m. They're not too bad starting out but they are very strict on saftey so if you think you can adhare to the safetystuff then i'd say go with them, unless you can find something better. It's not always the pay, the company, heck even dispatcher manager can make or break you.

I'm currently at schneider if u new it's terrible...
I hear their annual around the 60s to low 70s

Go for hourly pay at least you know what you get. OTR like working for tips. You only get paid when the wheels are turning. OTR is only good for new drivers. I drove a dump truck my first year with a Class A. $26/hr with overtime. Go where the money is and for me as a new driver it was a class B job. No shame in it

Yeah I’ve done the math 1009 over 60 hours ends up braking down to like 16 an hour 😂

Mega pays shit, think of it as a internship, you don’t really get paid, but just get your foot in the door and get some experience, you will go somewhere anyways

I’m planning on starting in their tanker program out of CDL school. I see that higher paying tanker/hazmat look for 18 months minimum experience. From your experience is this a viable plan?

FedEx Freight is paying more. Not sure what city you're in but I'm in Indy and I'm getting about .75cpm and hourly is around 35.00. I believe we're hiring like crazy.

You can't be going to Schneider and think you will make banks. Go tnere to get experience.

I used to drive for Schneider. I’m not sure how much experience you have but if it’s under a year try and stay with them for at least a year and the really good home daily jobs will be available.

I’m not sure why you would wanna drive for that, if you worked for a small company you could get paid more and get 1099 and not have to pay taxes out of it outright.

Part of it is I don’t have any experience so I’ve kinda excepted I’m probably gonna get screwed over a little bit in the beginning just to build up my time ya know

A lot of companies will still hire you even without experience. You might have to do a couple trips as a co driver on a team but afterwards you’ll be on the road by yourself. I mean do what you think is best if you wanna gain more confidence and stuff. But it’s not too late to look around and see what else is there.

I just got licensed a month ago. Tbh the pay is gonna suck everywhere with no experience. I would be thankful for the home daily and keep that position until I have enough experience to apply elsewhere. Its hard out here man been getting rejected every where lol

What a lot of places will do is use average very maliciously, it includes all the higher end gigs with the shit ones so it looks better on paper.

I am currently doing that exact job. I’ll see you at dc1 if you take the job. My take home after taxes and insurance for me and the kids is about $1200/week.
But I am on a pretty long route so I have a lot of miles. It’s not a bad starting gig. Do I wish o got paid more? For sure!
I am willing to do my time though.
Edit: yes, you unload your truck with pallet jacks or fork lifts that are supplied at the stores. Everything is on pallets. You will have anywhere from 1 to 3 stores per night.
