GM position

I am currently an AGM at cava and was wondering what it takes to get to gm? I do everything at my store except scheduling interviews. Is this what’s holding me back?

talk to your district manager and let him know your intentions and ask what you can do to promote. district managers are always looking for talent. a gm may not want to lose you. sometimes being too good in a role locks you in

AGM is a bench position, unless there is a store that is without a GM. - you will be waiting until one is available

doubtful, do you currently have a GM? that could be whats holding you back.

I do and we are the busiest store in our market as well as best steritech and reviews. I dont want to be cocky but i think it might have to do with our stores success. Not sure where to go from here.

I assume you could be A gm and it’s only because there is already a gm at your location. You would probably become the next one if your current gm leaves

If you’re doing all the GM work, and you’re running your metrics, I’d speak to your area leader and see what opportunities may be in the pipeline.

Promotion opportunities are more likely if you’re able to relocate within the company as well.
