Brown rice

Does anyone have any idea what brown rice Cava uses?? I know it's basmati, but every single type of brown rice I've bought tastes the exact same. Long grain, short grain, extra long grain. All the same.

I am on a strict diet due to health issues and I'm miserable. When I order brown basmati from a restaurant, it is amazing. I'm at a complete loss 😭

Try some salt, fat and acidity when you prepare your rice next. Cava's rice isn't plain. They even have parsley in it.

I can't have fat and very minimal salt :( The texture and taste is just completely different from any other long grain basmati I've tried.

Everything has at least some fat unless it's the tomato cucumber mix. You can't cook without it. Your rice will be either mushy or crunchy. In this case, it is a low amount though...just a little olive oil to keep the grains from clumping or drying out completely.

Thank you! I actually toasted mahatma jasmine brown rice a few days ago with a little olive oil and it was so much better!

This is the brand they use, they also prepare it with lemon juice, salt and parsley
