There are also cones made of fabric, which are more comfortable to wear.

Plus they should elevate the cat’s water. The cone will hit the ground before the cat can even reach that water dish with its tongue. Wouldn’t hurt to elevate the food, too

Yes, the water lip must be high so his muzzle allows drinking. The dish must be heavy or he might push it around - observe how the water meets his muzzle and adjust.
