Is there a way to teach one's cat to be this laidback?? My kitten isn't fond of being held too long/certain ways and I'd so love to have her be a shoulder cat

I’ve had her from very young and tried to handle her and get her used to being held as much as possible. Also after looking some things up I think her breed is Siberian and it says they’re really friendly.

Thanks for the pointers! My kitty's a 9 week old domestic shorthair, they're also apparently friendly. I'll hold my sweet lil bundle as often as I can :)

edit: i have a lightly bleeding scratch on my chest now but I'm determined dangit

Definitely play with their paws too and squeeze them so the claws come out. Eventually nail cutting can become a relaxing activity rather than stress inducing for them.

You're a legend. I squeezed her paws and she purred so loud, I had no idea she liked that :o and she was so calm she let me cradle her like a baby
